Now on to dresses I tried on last Friday. You can see the other two May 2012 try-ons here and here.

I love the Ella Dress in Porcelain Paisley as much as the No. 2 Pencil Skirt. The print is gorgeous. It has pockets. The fit is great in my normal strapless dress size of 8. But the price is the only detractor…$298. I’m not sure I would be able to get many wears out of it to justify the dress at that price. If it makes it to a decent sale price I’ll be all over it but for now it’s a wish-list item.
The Lucille Dress in Lace in Bright Sun is very pretty. This fits better in a Size 8 than the Basket-Weave Shift Dress in Retro Lemon that I tried on in March. This one also comes in Navy. I can’t remember if it has pockets or not.
This is the Villa Dress in Light Emerald, still full price in-store but on sale for $49.99 online. The size Small fits well and I’d stick with that if I purchase it with a promo. I’m not sure if the knit might be a little too thick for my part of Texas once the weather gets hot this summer.
This Blouson Striped-Knit Dress, #83380 $69.50, is very cute and is a thinner knit than the Villa Dress. It may be an in-store only dress. It has adjustable straps and an elastic waist. I am wearing a Medium but would size down to a Small as this runs a little big.
I am wearing a Medium in the Stripe Button Front Dress, which fits ok. I’m not sure that sizing down will help as it might run tight across the chest. It’s a pass for me as it seems too blah even with the stripes and belt.
The Dree Dress in Deck Stripe, Sz 6, is not worth the $148 price tag. I didn’t even notice the price when I tried it on. It is lightweight and has some elastic shirring at the waist but this would probably stick to me on a hot summer day. Gigi just reviewed it here. I see this heading to sale and getting a deep discount.
The Cotton Embossed Dress in White, #83826, $150, Sz 6, is a very cute and casual summer dress. It will go great paired with any colored Jackie or a bright belt…and it has pockets! It came in another color but I can’t remember what it was. I’d consider this on sale.
And I completely forgot a few items in my last post so I’ll one more later today or in the morning, along with the Size 4 of the Porcelain Paisley skirt.
Have a Great Day!

I did my weekly stop by J Crew Sunday, mainly because I couldn’t get the Striped Maxi Skirt out of my head. They had a full stock of them in all sizes. As I was looking around I also found the Maxi Skirt in a solid purple (TGR, #76784, $69.50). I am wearing a size Small here and it fits the same as the Striped skirt. My PS said it also comes in solid Gray.

There was also a new dress my PS wanted me to try. It comes in this dark mustard color, HCH-Heather Chartreuse?, #72122, $138, and a navy. The Size 6 was really snug on the top. The bottom portion hit about two inches below the knee. I’m also wearing the Drea Pumps in Leopard in a size 6 1/2. They are on sale for $139.99. I tried a size 7 in the Neon Peach and they run about a 1/2 size too big for me. Most of my shoes in JC are 7 so this does not fit TTS for me. That’s good to know when the rest of the colors go on sale. The size 8 in the dress fit better in the top but was a bit longer. It does have pockets.

Size 8

A favorite of mine from last summer is back. I have this in Navy, Modern Red, and Olive Green from last year and wore them at least once a week. The Linen Perfect Shirt, this time in Festival Green (#42841, $79.50). I’m wearing a size 6 here which is the same size I took last year.  I saw Navy, Modern Red, and White in store for this year. This is a great color and I know I’ll get much wear out of it this year. I hope it will come in some sort of Bright Blue.

What do you think of the new Linen Shirt and Maxi Skirt colors?

I’m exhausted but here are a couple of outfits I wore while in training this week. I also stopped by the J Crew Factory Store so I’ll have a few pics up later.

J Crew Saturday Sweater, S – Marled Bluegrass
Gap Essential Jeans, 6
J Crew Penelope Peep-Toe – Gray, Blue, Yellow

I was lucky enough to snag this dress off ebay and absolutely love it! I wore a little navy cami underneath and was originally going to wear my navy heels but the TOMS felt right with the dress.

Have a great evening!

Armed with my Give & Get 30% off coupon I went into Old Navy on Friday to take a peek at what they had for summer. I’ve been wanting to add a pair of denim wedges, like these Christian Louboutin, to my wardrobe, along with a green skirt, like this Miu Miu polka-dot one. But my wallet really can’t afford to take hits like that right now.

I was excited when I found what I was looking for and with a % off.

Scalloped eyelet skirt in the green I wanted! (not online yet)
Also came in white.
I also bought these in black because I was looking and needing a black sandal/espadrille.
They also come in Gold and White and are very comfy!
And my outfit on Friday.
J Crew Madras Strapless Dress
Old Navy Canvas Wedge Sandals
I didn’t wear them out of the store but I did change into them as soon as I got in the car!
I also found a white denim jacket. I know, a little 80s, but I can pair it with the dress above (and a few others) as well as the skirt (and a few others).
If you haven’t seen the posts, Gigi’s been to Old Navy recently with some reviews on dresses, jackets and a trench.
Have a great day!
