I stopped in to J Crew to return the Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane and try on the size 8 to see if that fit any better. It did fit better through the shoulders, arms and chest but I felt it to be a lot longer than the Petite.

Having now tried on the size 8 and comparing the images, there is no pulling across the chest in the 8 compared to the 8 Petite. I think it makes me look slimmer too so maybe the longer length is better…hmmm?

                                    Size 8                                                              Size 8 Petite
I also tried on the Tipped Silk Tee in Diamond Tile in a Size 6 and other than the length it fit like the 8 Petite though there was less pulling across the chest. The length felt long, like the size 8 but after comparing pics seems to be the same length as the Petite. I like the print on this Silk Tee and it will transition well into Spring.

A new sweater showed up in store, the Embossed Floral Sweater. It looks flocked to me but according to J Crew the design was made by “needle punching”. Only the Graphite Mist was in my store but I actually think I like the Navy Sea better. The 3/4 sleeves are bracelet on me in the size Medium. I would say this is TTS.

I’ve been hesitant to buy the Jeweled Fair Isle Stripe Sweater because 1) I have so many sweaters and not enough cold days to wear them and 2) cleaning this would be a b**** because of the 227 jewels on this sweater. My had 226 1/2 as there was one on the 2nd row of red hanging by a thread or two. The Medium fit fine but the hanging “jewel” completely turned me off of the sweater.

Lastly, is the Cable-Knit Pocket Sweater in Snow. I have a Cashmere Tee in Snow and it is White. This is Ivory to me. I have on a Medium and it fit fine but the pockets added bulk in the belly area. See it on Gigi here, along with the Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane.

I passed on all of these, this time but did add the regular size 8 in the Windowpane Tee to my Wishlist. Have you tried any of these items?

I am trying my best to not buy every embellished sweatshirt that comes out but the Mini-Bows Sweatshirt in Heather Onyx was too cute to pass up. I grabbed a Medium and this run TTS.

Plenty of room through the arms. The material is cozy, of course.

The bows are all over the front and arms. They are not in the back which is good because there are little rhinestones at the center of each bow. Those could get snagged on something and the whole bow could fall off and you wouldn’t know.

Aren’t these just the cutest?

As of now, this sweatshirt is on promo for $98 plus there is 30% off and free shipping today only, making this a pretty good deal. I do plan on layering under this sweatshirt. I’m thinking the Tartan shirt from last year as well as the Silk French Hen Shirt.
Have you tried the Mini-Bows Sweatshirt yet?

I was looking for a black shoe for parties and dressier events and decided on the Collection Sloane Velvet Crisscross Pumps. They were not my first choice. I really wanted the Collection Etta in Tweed and Glitter but someone snatched my size from my bag before I could checkout during the Thanksgiving weekend 30% off. SadBella

I ordered my normal size 7. They are a bit retro and not quite my style but I actually like them. I forgot they were velvet until after I received them.

They have gold trim around the straps and shoe.

The heel is 3 1/2 inches and at first try-on feel comfortable. That’s about my comfort height without a platform.

I will be wearing these tonight with some black tights and some sort of J Crew party outfit so look for that Que Bella next week.

I’m glad I now have a pair of black party heels, though they are more Fall/Winter only due to the Velvet.

Have you tried the Sloan Pumps in this Velvet Crisscross or any of the others?

Three new silk tees arrived online during some new arrivals and I decided on trying the Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane. I ordered the 8 Petite and probably should have ordered the regular size 8. The 8 Petite fit great through the waist but the sleeves were tight on me and it was a bit snug across the chest. You can see just a touch of pulling in the first pic.

The Silk Tee felt great on. The silk feels very nice against the skin. It is not lined and has a back keyhole with button. I was able to just slip the tee on without unbuttoning it.

The side view is where I found this the most unflattering and made me realize the regular size 8 would be best.

Here you can see the pulling on the arms and across the back.
I do like this tee and hope my store has a size 8 in this print for me to exchange. I’m still trying to get the hang of the J Crew Petite sizing. I found my blazer size in the 10 Petite but pants and shirts are still a bit hit-or-miss.
Have you tried the Silk Tee yet in this print or the Solid or Diamond Tile?

Is everyone shopped out from all the Black Friday deals? Ready for today, Cyber Monday? I have two C/M deals I’m waiting on, as the times for roll-out for what I’m looking for are staggered all day. Crazy but it creates hype. I hope I get what I’m looking for as it’s a gift for The Boy. I’ll share if I get it.

Here are a few more items from the Holiday roll-out that I tried on a week or so ago. First is the Gold Stripe Mini Skirt. The first two images are a Size 8 and it ran a little big, surprisingly. I always take an 8 in the Mini skirt but this ran big on me around the waist and hips. I think it’s the pleats, (Not an Anchorman reference…haha.)

My VPS paired it with the Tippi Sweater in Vintage Cabernet and the Stretch Perfect Shirt in White. I love the work-appropriateness of this outfit. Add black tights and tall boots and it’s perfect.

These next two images are the size 6 of the skirt and I felt much better in it. My VPS had another outfit for this making it super casual with the Hugo Guinness Linen Tee and the Schoolboy Blazer in Black. I’d pair this outfit with some booties instead of tall boots.

The Minnie Pant in Medallion Print, size 8, felt very comfortable on. This was a little saggy in the front but just fit in the waist so maybe an 8 Petite would be the best fit. I ended up passing on these as I didn’t feel like I would wear them enough with such a bold/bright bottom.

Lastly, is the Tweed Flare Dress, size 6, which just fit through the chest and waist. I think I’d try sizing to an 8 to see if the fit was just a touch looser on top. Or just Spanx it. I do like the fit and flare of this dress and added it to my Wishlist.

I did purchase the skirt so look for it in some upcoming Que Bellas!
Happy shopping today!
