Pictures are up…!

Just a quick post…Got a “few” things at the second Fall roll-out at J Crew. I’ll post pics soon but most of them are on the web/blogosphere somewhere.

Two dogs tee in (Medium)…Saw this in an early Fall preview and loved it.

Slub cotton embroidered flowers tee (Medium)…When I first saw it, I was reminded a little of the Chiffon Rose Tee.

w/the Shirred Wool Skirt

Mohair Souffle’ Cardigan in Heather Grey (Medium)…It’s lightweight for where I live and I’m fond of mohair.

Dressy Jersey Ruffle Neck in Heather Latte (Small)…I sized down in this which I NEVER do, but after buying another jersey dress from the summer in Medium I realized it was a tad too big. Great for working at home when I want to get out of shorts & tees and I can still run around town in it.

Silk Sirrah Dress in Navy (6)…Very cute and perfect for now and “cooler” weather with a cardi or the Mohair Cardi.

So, it was our Tax Free Weekend in Texas and my store offered you to come pick out what you wanted and they would hold it until Friday. Then they’d charge your card and ship it out to you. Easy shopping without the crowds. I knew I had to go back to that mall to get a few things for the boy so I asked that they hold it for me to pick-up. Well, they didn’t have my stuff when I went to pick it up today. (so sad)…Someone had accidentally shipped it out to me. So I ended up getting a $20 GC (YAY!) for my trouble. While there, they had even more new items out that weren’t there on Wednesday (or maybe I missed them).

I found the Shirred Wool Skirt in Heather Carbon and Black. It is so cute. They also had the Felted Wool Bistro Mini. I wanted the Heather Carbon but they only had a 4 and they had a 6 in the Black. I tried on both. I haven’t been in a size 4 in YEARS! Well…it fit! IT FIT! I literally squealed in the dressing room. The 6 was comfy too but I wanted the “Grey” and the length looked the same. I was ecstatic.

The thing I like about it is that it is lightweight, which is what I need. The bistro mini was a little heavier than I wanted it to be and I like the swinginess of the Shirred Wool Skirt. I have been purchasing a lot of straight mini’s so this was a good compromise (& fit!).

I also bought the Haberdashery shirt in a Grey Dot (not sure of the exact color) and thinking of pairing it with the wool skirt & the Wool Pencil Skirt. (UPDATE:: ummm…so maybe not…too much grey, but it will look good with jeans.)

Here’s what I want but will surely have to order online.
Wool Ruffle Jacket in Rosebud-This looks like it will sell out fast. It’s really pretty.
Printed Antique Ruffle Top
Fishnet Anklets (Thinking of pairing them with my new Patent Oxfords.)
Cashmere lined leather gloves (any color really)

I’ve rambled (maybe to cover for the lack of posting). I’ll post pics soon.

I received my Wool Pencil Skirt today and am very happy but also slightly disappointed. I ordered a size 6 and the length is at least 3 inches, maybe 4 past my knees. Boo Hoo! I’ll have to get it altered. Being on the lower end of the 5 foot range in height I should be used to getting alterations but I just wish things would fit just right every time.

Here it is…

Perfect Shirt – I really like this look.

“Altered” – This is about where I would like this skirt to be.

Now here’s my dilemma…SHOES! I can’t believe it. J Crew has it with the Spencer Patent-Trimmed Suede Mary Janes in Chalkboard (Gray). (And, I just sold some gray suede mary-janes on ebay. Oh well, they didn’t fit right anyway.)

So below I have the skirt paired with my Python Kitten Heel Louboutin’s and then with my Wall Street Louboutin’s.

I guess that’s a great excuse to Buy the Shoes!

So here’s what I purchased last week from the new fall arrivals at J Crew.

The Frances cami in Deep Rose & Dark Slate, the Evening Primrose Cardi and the Stretch Twill Minnie pant.

I’m taking the pant back. It’s supposed to be a “vintage-inspired cropped leg” but is regular length for me. After bringing it home I don’t like having my “flaws” exposed. And without Spanx underneath that could very well happen. It fits well without Spanx but this is not for me. I’ll stick with the straight leg or wide leg pant.

I also purchased two necklaces, one of which is online – The Shimmering Teardrop necklace and the Glass Barrel & Chain Necklace.

The “teardrop” was a lot larger than I expected – 1 1/2 inches.

I purchased the following from my Factory Store trip. (I have no i-dea what the original names were.)

Black “Fireball” necklace

Black Crystal Chain necklace

Black Ribbon Pearl necklace

Here they are all together.

And minus the Crystal chain but with the Teardrop necklace.

I didn’t get any of the blazers. I really did like both but in the end, it’s still to hot to even consider jackets. The sweater was the closest I could do. And I did NOT LIKE the Merino Chiffon sweater. It’s just a mess. It also looks like it could easily come undone from looking at the stitching on the inside. There’s no backing to hold it together a little more.

The Textured Jersey Boatneck tee fit a bit snug in the chest. I tried on a Medium. A large would have been too long and may have looked like a tunic. The Cotton Tuxedo shirt was cute but meh…I have a white one from the Gap and a navy from Express that I never wear. So I’ll just stick with those 2 that I don’t wear and not add to it. I did see the Crinkle Cotton Perfect Shirt in Navy and Pale Wisteria but none in my size.

I also ordered the Wool Pencil Skirt from the red phone and should receive that tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what it looks like. I hope I’m not disappointed.

I work from home so my daily attire is shorts and t-shirts. About once a month or so I go in to my corporate office. That’s when I get to dress up and wear “real” clothes.

Here’s what I wore Wednesday.

J Crew Imperial Tee
J Crew Coccodrillo Pencil Skirt
Manolo Blahnik Campari-Black Patent

I love this skirt!

Last year J Crew had some “sequin/embellished” tees of a motorcycle and a bulldog. I think they came out around the same time as the Chiffon Rose tee. I bought the motorcycle tee but not the bulldog. I thought about that puppy a few days ago and now wished I would have bought that too. I searched ebay and couldn’t even find a used one. Gone forever you cute little bulldog.

Motorcycle Tee

Or so I thought…

I went to my area outlet mall and stopped by J Crew. The first thing I saw was a bulldog tee, with embellishment. Yay! Score! And 25% off! I looked closer and it wasn’t the exact bulldog tee but his little sister…ha ha ha. The bulldog has a cute little pink bow. She’s precious. I quickly scooped it up and was tempted to buy the rest just so no one else could have her.

I looked around and saw some cute stuff. Some Victoria ruffle cami’s in purple, ivory and gray, various cardigans, tees and button down shirts. I bought some jewelry, a long/boyfriend cardi in olive and, of course, the bulldog tee.

Here she is.
I haven’t forgotten about the better IRL pics of my fall arrival purchases but it won’t be until this weekend before I get to it.

Have a great day! I will, wearing my little bulldog.
