Oh my…has it been a busy few weeks in the AudreyBella household.

  • The Boy is out for the summer.
  • We had our first backyard BBQ/Pool party.
  • Husband started a war with some Red Hornets. I had to get involved and it wasn’t pretty.
  • I don’t have a green thumb at all. I think I killed my Bougainvilleas.
  • But my Knockout Roses are blooming!
  • The last of my outdoor furniture arrived!
  • I cleaned my office!!!
  • I re-organized my closet, again.
  • I made an AWESOME margarita that included champagne! Yummy yummy!
  • We saw Hangover 2. I thought it was funny, as did The Boy.
  • Received the most wonderful compliment from Husband’s friend about The Boy – “He’s the most adult 15 year old I’ve ever met.”

And I needed a little break from blogging (not that I do it daily, but you know how it goes).

Anyway, it’s my birthday month and I have been receiving lots of “birthday” coupons. Of course, my most prized one was Anthropologie, which didn’t last a whole two days into June! More on that later. I decided to make this “The Month of Dressing Pretty”. For the summer I always do the standard shorts, tees and flip-flops. I have so many pretty things that are not worn and I decided I wasn’t going to wait around for a special occasion or work to wear them. This whole birthday month will be a special occasion. You should be seeing me in lots of skirts and dresses that are rarely worn, some even NWT. I’m going to attempt to commit to dressing pretty 4 days a week.

June 1

Dress: J Crew Mirabel in White, 6
Belt: J Crew
Shoes: Corso Como Espadrilles

June 2

Blouse: Tucker for Target, S
Shoes: Old Navy Wedges (last summer)

I’m working on my Anthropologie post so you should see that later this evening or tomorrow morning.

Have a great day!

I saw the Castle Lake Dress at Anthro when I was there last week but didn’t try it on. Then I saw it Kathleen over at Princess of Taylor and she looked fantastic in it so I had to try it. I returned the Girls of Savoy Bindwood Blouse and found a Small and Medium in the Castle Lake Dress, currently on sale for $89.95.

Dress: Castle Lake Dress by Floreat from Anthropologie
Cardigan: J Crew Outlet Jackie in White
Shoes: Corso Como Espadrilles
I wore this to the office Thursday. I felt like I should be vacationing in the Mediterranean with this dress on. The print is lovely and the colors are so pretty. The rope detail at the neck makes it unique.
The first image is from Anthropologie and it shows the keyhole in the front, as does the catalog image, but the tag is there so that is actually the back. Weird, huh? I wanted to wear flat sandals with it but didn’t have anything but flip-flops. Some Miss Trish sandals from Target would have been really cute. I have a pair of Miu Miu that don’t really fit but I can’t bear to get rid of them right now. I mean, they kind of fit, but not in a go-to-shoe kind of way? So now that’s two new pairs of shoes on my list to search for – cute flat sandals and black sling-back sandals.
Today and the weekend are all about shorts and tees for me. It’s raining and The Boy wants to go shopping. I did not mis-type. The Boy asked me to take him shopping. He’s invited to an end-of-year party that is a “White Party”, a-la P. Diddy/Puff Daddy/whatever his name is. Everyone dresses in white. I found some white/off-white shorts but he wants to find something better. Apparently his friends are all talking about this and he’s excited to go. So, shopping it is with The Boy.
Have a great day!

I know it’s been a while since I posted but I’ve been swamped with work, home, life in general with no me time anywhere. And it sucks. It also sucks that I still haven’t found a camera. Husband said I couldn’t get a new one so I’m scouring ebay for one EXACTLY like mine. Ta Da! Mine’s fixed. He actually wants to get an DSLR so I can understand why he said no to a new, slim, easy-to-manage, fits-in-my-purse camera.

Here’s what I’m wearing for Cinco de Mayo. I bought this blouse several years ago at Francesca’s Collections and they are also online. They have are like a little Anthropologie Boutique, with lower price points.

Blouse: Lithe from Francesca’s
Shorts: J Crew
Shoes: Corso Como (last seen here)

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Here’s a homemade Mexican Martini for you!

Enjoy!

Since hubby was still recovering from surgery he couldn’t take me to lunch or dinner for my birthday. That didn’t stop me though. The boy and I went to Mariposa Cafe at Neiman’s and then I picked up dinner from PF Chang’s. For lunch (and a little NM shopping) I wore my Jakarta mini and my Rosette Tee with my Corso Como Espadrilles. I think the Rosette’s and the swirly Jakarta print were a good fit together. You tell me if it went together. (I really need to do Polyvore.)

I finished the Birthday off with cake and my favorite wine, Santa Margherita Pino Grigio. And I saw the new fawns. They are over a week old and have grown a lot. They were half this size last week. (Sorry for the crappy image but when I went outside the momma and friends were 5 feet from me wanting food.)

They are still cuties.
