The thing about seeing people you haven’t seen in 20 years is that some people do not change. And there are others who have done a complete 180. I apparently was the latter. I was a shy, naive and didn’t voice my opinion very much. I’m the complete opposite now. (Guess I have to be if I have a blog, huh?) There were people who didn’t recognize me (it was the hair) until they saw my badge with my Senior picture on it. I had fun but people also acted exactly as I expected. So, like I said, some things never change. Especially in a small town.

I got Husband’s opinion on a few dresses and picked this LDB.

But then Husband didn’t get to the cleaners in time so he was going to wear jeans. I didn’t want to be too over-dressed so I switched to dark jeans and the J Crew Tiered Vintage Fleur Cami, GAP Essential Jeans and my red Louboutin’s.
Not the best smile but I had two “yahoos” doing bunny ears to each other. CRAZY!

I had fun.

Now, anyone know where my fairy god-mother is? Either her or those mice from Cinderella. I have guests this weekend and a wrecked house!

Another office visit and a high school prep day are good reasons to dress up.

Monday I headed into the office again and chose the Ink Blossom Pencil Skirt. I honestly love J Crew pencil skirts. They are so flattering. I originally thought of wearing the Kelsey Ruffle cami with this skirt and even took a picture to debate it.

What do you think?

I eventually decided on being a little less bold and more match-y.

Cami: J Crew Outlet
Skirt: J Crew – Ink Blossom Pencil Skirt
Shoes: Ann Taylor Perfect Pump in Porcini

LOVE THESE SHOES. Lasted a 10-hour day and not a smidge of pain.

Here’s what I wore today for The Boy’s Prep Day at high school. Yay for me! I didn’t cry.

Dress: J Crew Bazaar Print Tunic Dress
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Hola Flat

Of course, since I went in to the office I had to stop by the J’Crewlet. I know I just went two weeks ago but you never know what new items could show up. I did a quick scan and saw nothing new. The Eden Corduroy Blazer was on sale for $59.50.

Then I saw this necklace on the way out. They just came in over the weekend. During the summer I saw this necklace in the B&M and wanted it so badly but I just couldn’t justify the cost. So when I saw this for $49.50 AND 30% off jewelry, I didn’t hesitate to march right up to the register and buy it.

Necklace: J Crew Outlet (similar to Pearl Twisted Hammock)
Style #27531
$49.50 + 30% off

This is the same necklace but in natural that I found at the outlet before Christmas, in the sale section. It was $19.99 plus 20% off sale items.

Pretty pearls…

Have a great evening!

Yes, I got a haircut over the weekend and LOVE IT! I’m going to “attempt” to start growing it out but it’s hard when I get cuts like this that make me happy.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

Don’t you hate it when you see something you want in a magazine or photo but when you see it IRL it might not be so great after all. So you pass on it and then think about it for the next few months regretting you didn’t buy it. That’s what happened to me and the Tie-Dye Wednesday skirt. IRL, it just didn’t strike me like I wanted it to. It sold out quickly and every time I saw it as a pop-back I regretted my decision to not buy it and wanted it even more. There it was, just taunting me.
Thankfully, we have the JCA Exchange where I found my skirt but, again, didn’t ask about it or buy it. Then it showed up on ebay. Major sign, right? So I bid and eventually won the auction. Turns out it was a JCA (Thanks Carrie!) selling the skirt. Silly me, I should have asked.
So now I have no more regrets (at least about this skirt) and can move on to my next obsession. Not sure what that is but I’ll find something soon.
Tee: J Crew Twisted Slub
Skirt: J Crew Tie-Dye Wednesday Skirt
Shoes: Brass Tack Wedges – Anthropologie

Here’s what I wore Monday.

Blouse: Transposed Tulips Blouse (Anthro)
Shorts: J Crew Carson
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Hola Thong Sandal
The colors of the blouse are so striking and vibrant.
Hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!

After going several years (10, and it was mine) without a wedding in the family, we have had 3 in 18 months with two more coming up in October and November. It’s nice to be with family and I have a large extended family. Turns out my immediate family is pretty big now too. We filled the entire church pew Saturday.

We all get dressed up, laugh, eat, drink, dance, gossip (I know, that’s bad.), take pictures and enjoy the entire event. It’s so much fun. Here are just a few pictures, including what I wore.

Have a great weekend!

I need your help. I have a wedding shower to attend this weekend in my hometown. I don’t want to wear something too nice/dressy because I certainly don’t want to outshine the bride-to-be. I have narrowed it down to three outfits, and, apparently all J Crew. (Yes, I have other clothes…I think.)

Here’s the Polyvore.

Here are the IRLs. First up, Tunique Dress with gladiator sandals.

Second A- Vintage Zebra Blakely Dress with Burnished Leather Belt and gladiator sandals

Second B – Vintage Zebra Blakely Dress with Flowerette Sash and nude heels

Third – White Shirt with Linen Sinclair skirt, Flowerette Sash and Nude peep-toe pumps
