Ann Taylor has a promo for the long weekend, taking 40% off your purchase with code WEEKEND.  I was able to try some things on last weekend that I’ll be sharing soon.

The print on the Shadow Floral Pencil Skirt and blouse are reminiscent of the Inky Floral from J Crew last Spring/Summer. During a 50% off promo last weekend I bought the Embroidered Dot Perfect Shirt. The size 8 worked for me.

The dresses are what really got me when I did try-ons. Especially the Sleeveless Shirtdress and  Striped Double-V Sheath Dress. Those two are on my list to find in-store this weekend. The Striped Midi Dress sold quickly in-store and I didn’t have an opportunity to try on a Small or Medium. I’ll also be looking for the Drapey Crop Pants to try on as well.

Have you checked out the Ann Taylor WEEKEND promo yet?

Banana Republic has a new promo of 40% off your purchase (exclusion apply) with code BR40. There are so many new pieces on my wishlist at Banana. Though I know I won’t buy it, I have been waiting for the Watercolor Pencil Skirt to show up online.  It certainly looks like a print J Crew would do. It comes in a full skirt and blouse, though only Petite sizing is left.

I love the Pima Cotton the Banana has so I would really like to try the Cashmere-blend Turtleneck in Stripe. It comes in solids too. I am fond of the Ryan-Fit pants and have the Chambray Lightweight Pants on my list to try on. I would love to add the Pinstripe Shirtdress to my closet so I’m hoping one of my stores received it.

As far as toppers, I think the Suede Trench is divine but as a BR Pick, it’s excluded from the promo. I’ll probably need to settle for the Extra Fine Merino Trench Cardigan.

What are you looking at during this promo?

Hola and Happy New Year! I have been enjoying my time off but am ready to get back into my hobby. I visited some fitting rooms over the weekend and found myself channeling Gigi and getting a bit “stripesick”. Stripes need to be a certain spacing for me or I won’t wear the item. The Boy won’t wear them at all. Ever since he was old enough to speak he fussed over having to wear stripes, and that included plaid. He’s opened up to plaid but don’t even suggest a striped shirt. Kids are so odd.

I liked the Midweight Boatneck Striped Tee in Cherry because, well, it was not Navy, which I always choose over any other color. Other than a Tippi and a pair of jeans I have no red in my closet. The Striped Tee w/Back Zip also has faux leather going down the length of each sleeve. There’s also a Navy version with wider stripes, the Rugby Striped T-Shirt with Back Zip.

IRL, I preferred the Ivory/Black/Gray over the Blueberry/Burgundy/Navy of the Mixed Striped Tee. The Burgundy is the back of the tee and almost doesn’t seem to match. My store did not have the Oversized Stripe Turtleneck which I wanted to see. I’m picky about turtlenecks as I don’t want them to be overly tight at the neck.

I’m excited for the new year though I don’t have anything big planned yet. I’ll be back tomorrow with some of my “stripesick” reviews.

Tory Burch is having a great sale on their sale items, taking 30% off with code Merry30. I am extremely happy with the items I’ve purchased recently, wearing them constantly. The Wool Henley Tunic is so soft and cozy. I have been in love with the Jacquard Wrap Skirt since it came out, the long vest too, so I have my personal shopper searching for the skirt in my size at another store.

I bought the Merino Pieced Suede Sweater Tunic for over 70% off. It’s absolutely gorgeous and is the same style as the Oversized Mockneck Tunic I have. Though the suede version is sold out online, I found mine in-store. If you have been waiting for an item to go on sale and it’s not online call a store. My store is currently over-stocked with sale items.

Happy Tory Shopping!

Did you catch that J Crew Factory snuck in a mini roll-out last week? The Horse Love Sweatshirt is back in gray with gold foil horses. The print and color of the Printed Flare Dress in Lime Green looks familiar but I can’t quite place the color name. I think the retail version was in a wool-silk pencil skirt. The Textured-Dot Split-Neck Dress is the Factory version of the Windowpane Dress. I ended up returning mine since I didn’t have a place to wear it.

I really wish I could pull off a cape and I love the Navy Wool Cape Jacket. And even though we are only 9 days into Winter, the Textured Stripe Amelia Flat and Mixed Tweed Classic D’Orsay Flat have me thinking of Spring already. But the number one item and am really looking forward to trying is the Striped Jacquard Pencil Skirt. I own several sweaters I think will look good with this pencil skirt. I’m hoping to get to the Factory sometime this weekend.

What caught your eye in this mini roll-out?
