I stopped in to Anthropologie to peruse the sale section one day and found some non-sale items to try on. The sale section was small, like everything had been purchased or shipped elsewhere.

The Starlit Stripes Dress by Leifsdottir caught my eye immediately. I knew I would need a size 8 but there was only a size 6 to try on. I could not get it zipped past my rib cage so an 8 is the correct size for me, in Leifsdottir. The sparkly top with the beautiful teal and black striped metallic midi skirt is so pretty. I love the color combination and will try to recreate it with something else. Unfortunately, the length is all wrong for me. The model online has 6 stripes on the skirt so I’m betting it was altered to get it to just-below-the-knee length for her. I so wish I could wear this dress. I’d have to alter it and remove 4-5 stripes and that would probably throw off the shape of the dress, maybe making the bottom even fuller than it is. This will be a wonderful party dress for taller ladies, like my friend Catalina. Sadly, I have to pass on this dress.

The store styling has a glittery belt and the Swirled Fur Cowl in Cream. Just gorgeous!

Another item that caught my was the Lattice Blossom Top by Weston Wear. I tried on the Black in a Small and the Ivory in a Medium. This was so pretty in both colors but I liked the fit of the Small and the Black color the best. This will be wonderful dressed down with denim or cords or dressed up with a silk or sequined party skirt.

I have lots of time to kill today so I’ll be in lots of fitting rooms for some show-and-tell next week!
Happy Halloween!

I love my Reva Tunic in “orange” from Anthropologie. I have worn it at least once a week since I purchased it back in June.

So I am very happy to see a “green” colorway for Fall. I took a Medium over the Small from Summer so that I could easily layer it with long-sleeve tees, cardigans and leggings. But since it’s a sleeveless tunic dress, I am able to wear it during our warmer days until that happens. I added my Birkenstock’s and let my hair air-dry which left these wavy layers. This tunic is amazingly comfortable and so easy to just throw on and go.

The olive and orange are perfect pairings for Fall.

Have you tried the Reva Tunic? What else are you liking at Anthro these days?

On Friday, after J Crew, my girlfriend and I went to Anthropologie to waste a little time and have a little try-on session. We tried on the same things in the same size, so you’re getting two for one today. For reference, I’m 5’2″ and she’s not (5’9″ or 5’10″…I think).

Algarve Beaded Sweater, Sz Medium – I saw this laying on a table and thought the beading with the cable-knit was super cute. On, not so much. The Medium was a bit fitted and a little short-waisted. We paired it with the Astral Swing Skirt, size 8. I liked this online when I first saw it but once I put it on it added too much weight to my hips. It could use a little less pleating.  It hit me in the same spot in length as Cata and she could size to a 6 in this skirt.

Adela Beaded Skirt, Sz Small (I think) – This is a super cute skirt and currently on sale.

The Emeline Tulle Skirt, Sz 6, was Cata’s pick. It’s a beautiful skirt and the fit was perfect in the 6 for me. I would order a Petite to shorten the length and Cata has the Karenina skirt from last year so we both passed.

Maeve always creates some of my favorite items. This silk sheer top, the Illusione Blouse, is beautiful. I am in love with the Waverly Blouse by Nanette Lepore but this will definitely satisfy my love and at a lower price point. I tried this on with the Citizens of Humanity Dylan Boyfriend Distressed Jeans in size 29. They were super comfortable but slightly big in the waist. But I don’t think the 28 would work as the hips were a perfect fit in the 29.

Moulinette Souers is another favorite of mine and the Toadstool Blouse, size 6, is super cute and now on my wish list. Some of the mushrooms are embellished with beaded which makes it a bit more whimsical.

Another Maeve love is the Taryn Crepe Shift, size 6. This little shift in the Red Motif is very Mod with all the patchwork. And where it differs from the J Crew Jules is that it’s not a straight shift. It comes in/curves in right around the waist giving you a bit of shape. Love that!

What has caught your eye at Anthropologie?

These are just a couple of things I’ve picked up at Anthropologie over the last few months. The Fashion Show last week aided in some of these purchases.

Smocked Malee Dress, 6 – I have wanted this dress since I saw it in the catalog but I kept passing on it because I heard the smocking didn’t give very well. Then I would change my mind when one of my favorite SA’s would wear it (hi Michelle!). Once my mother saw the dress she said I had to get it. I was able to order this in both the 6 and 8 when the 15% off was going on the day before Mother’s Day. The 6 fits great and the smocking in the shoulders is not uncomfortable at all. Also, I don’t feel this is any shorter than some of my favorite J Crew mini skirts I have.

The back seems a little longer than the front.

Swiss Dot Shirtdress, Green, 8 – This was a dress I saw on another customer and grabbed my size to try it on. The color reads more of a Teal than a true green and the hue is very pretty. I had to size to an 8 because the bust pulled and gaped open. The 8 did a little but switching to a thinner, non-padded bra helped with that. I added my Louboutin Puglia Espadrilles and my white enamel link bracelet from Etsy for an office day.
Lidia Embroidered Dress by Moulinette Soeurs, 6 – This was an anniversary gift, sort of. Husband had rushed in because he “miscalculated” our anniversary date (in other words, he forgot.) He grabbed the Provencal Blouse but it fit a little tight in the shoulders and was 100% Polyester. I exchanged the blouse for this dress but since one of the little flowers was snagged I ordered it online through the store. I was lucky enough to get a PA as this dress is now on sale, and for $8 less than the blouse. I saved Husband some money! I am able to wear the size 6 as the back has some elastic to stretch a little more. I love this dress and it will be coming with me on my trip. I wore it to work with the J Crew Factory Summer-Weight Cardigan in White and my Navy Cece’s. I removed the cardigan and changed to my Seville Chambray Espadrilles for the Anthropologie Fashion Show.
Nimbin Peasant Blouse by Tolani, XS – I fell in love with this blouse after seeing this on the cute SA from the Fashion Show. This blouse runs small. This is a flowy blouse and depending on how you want wear it will depend on if you go down one or two sizes. I decided to go down two sizes to the XS but the Small fit well too. I wore this with my JC Pleated Shorts in White and my TB Thora in Lizard for a friend’s birthday.

Pompom Crest Tee by Meadow Rue, S – This is one of those embellished tees that is just oh-so-comfy. I sized to a Small as I wanted it to be a little less flowy. Depending on your preference of fit you can go with your normal size or down one. The material is a little thin but not like the Linen tees. The embellishment and pompoms are so adorable. It’s so comfortable I wanted to sleep in it.

Key Lime Apron – I just noticed this went on sale too. I am not lucky with PAs but this will be 3 all at once. That’s pretty awesome. I have a waist apron but not a full-length one. I bought this anticipating whether or not I would receive one for Mother’s Day (I did). But now that it’s on sale and I’ll get a PA I will probably keep it. It’s very cute and green (fave!).

Parley Weels by Holding Horses, 7 – Kind of high, yes, but the platform helps manage that. These were also used in the Fashion Show and you can see them on me in the first two images above. I love the mix of the cork and wood together.

Anything catch your eye? There are lots of great Fresh Cuts for this week!

Have a Great Day!

On Thursday night, my local Anthropolgie had their first ever Fashion Show. It was so much fun and it was great to see all the Anthro items enticing us for Summer!

As soon as this cute model came out in the Nimbin Peasant Blouse I knew I needed it. She looked absolutely laid back but chic and definitely ready for some shopping in a beach town.

In person, the Soraya Maxi Dress is so vibrant. The blue with the yellow is so pretty and fun.

Another maxi dress I loved was the Sunburst Maxi Dress. I also found out it comes in Petites online! The beading in the front is gorgeous.

A floppy hat is a definite must for summer. I think this one is Rippling Ribbon Floppy Hat. The Coralline Peplum Top is stunning in person.

The Ikat Shorts in black and cream with the peach colored Pleated Santari Buttondown make this outfit super chic for me.  The model is also wearing the Parley Weels wedges, which I loved!

My friend Catalina and I had a lot of fun and also saw Molly there too who just happened to also be a model. Hopefully you’ll see her in the quick video below!

The Fashion Show was so much fun and I hope they do it again for Fall!
Have a Great Evening!
