I had quite a bit of time to myself while in San Diego so spent some of it taking the time to try on some clothes without being rushed. Banana Republic was my first stop and they had just received their latest collection of new arrivals.

These pants looked and felt so drab on me. The size Small fit ok but there’s bunching in the front though it was tight across the butt. The Medium would have been really saggy and bunchy. These are 100% cotton with no stretch. The model image doesn’t seem to really be pulling off these pants either. Maybe a zipper and button instead of the elastic waist could have helped this pant have a little more structure.

~ Denim Soft Pant, size 6 ~
These reminded me of J Crew’s Cuffed Lightweight Chambray Pant (on the right), down to the elastic at the hem. I would definitely need to size up to an 8 in these as the size 6 was fairly tight. The BR pant was 100% Tencel while the JC pant is a Tencel/Linen blend. I like the look of the material better on the JC pant. The BR pant has a little too much shine for me. I passed on the JC pant as well as the BR pant.

I liked these quite a bit though they are really sheer and not lined. You can see these are a little snug. I think the size 8 might make these a little more slouchy. And they definitely need to be hemmed. These were too sheer for my liking. I don’t event think Spanx could save them. They also come in Chambray, which I saw in-store but didn’t grab to try on. I would order the Chambray if there was still a size 8 available.
Remember, I also tried on similar pants (on the right) at the Loft {review} some on at Loft, that are very similar, $10 cheaper and they are having 40% off online-only.

Through Monday, Banana Republic is having 40% off most regular-priced items and some items have an additional 50% using BRSUMMER.
Ebates Coupons and Cash Back You can also get 8% cash back from EBATES.
I have some cute dresses coming up tomorrow from Banana Republic then I’ll have some J Crew New Arrivals for the weekend.
Have a Great Day!

Still on a quest to find wide-leg crops I like, I found some at Banana Republic. I ordered them during a 40% off promo and within a few days they had sold out online. Though they are still back-ordered online, they are now available in-stores. I didn’t have a chance to take pics of the ones I ordered before I left on my mini-vacation to San Diego but was able to find them in a store and try them on.

Sleek Wide-Leg Gaucho Pant, White, size 6 Regular~

My order was for the size 6 in both the black and white pants. I also had, several years ago, some pants just like these in black from White House Black Market. After holding on to them for a few years without the trend returning I gave them away.
I ordered the size 6 Short based on my fit in the Sloan Pants. The size 6 Regular fit snug, and looked more so in the White than in the Black. These are not lined and you can clearly see the pockets. I would definitely need to Spanx these.

Sleek Wide-Leg Gaucho Pant, Black, size 8 Regular ~

The size 8 fit a little better, especially across the hips but they still felt a little snug. The length was a little long on both the size 6 and size 8. I’m looking for a pair that will hit just above the start of my calf. Even the Short size, which I ordered, was still a little long. The material is a Cotton/Lyocell blend which includes Spandex. They feel a little like J Crew’s Cafe’ Capri’s but I think the Lyocell makes them a little more snug.

I wish I could have kept these as they are the best ones I’ve found but with the fit issues they just weren’t meant to be.

There’s a lot I love in the most recent new arrivals from J Crew. This is a nice roll-out for almost Summer.

I’m always looking for long shorts and the Metallic Foil Bermuda Shorts look great for a date-night option. I saw the Stitch-Down Pleated Mini Skirt in Ivory and it’s very similar to the Pleated Lattice Skirt. I haven’t compared the two but I think there is less stitching on the new skirt.

The Cap-Sleeve Shirtdress really makes me wish I worked in an office more than once every quarter. I would buy it in a heartbeat. My issue with most shirtdresses is that the sleeves are cut way too slim, so cap-sleeve and sleeveless options are best.
The Drapey V-Neck Romper in Dark Cinnamon is a huge love for me. I love this color and think this will be great for daily wear and maybe even for a casual night out at the nearby Food Truck place.
Lastly, I love the Jungle Print and think the best option for me would be the Racer-Back swimsuit. I am in the pool almost every weekend so I need several options to wear throughout the Summer, both bikini and one-piece options.
I am hoping to get to my store’s First Look event tonight and hope some of these items are in-store. What are you liking from the new roll-out that I should consider?

I saw Minnie Travel Flats in-store a few weeks ago. I am not a huge fan of the Reva Ballet Flats as the elastic at the back pinches my heel. But these were on the shelf at my local store in a 6 1/2 and I decided to slip them on.

The Gunmetal color is beautiful. It looked purple originally but changed to silver-ish in a different light. Though the size 6 1/2 was a little snug I could already tell how comfortable they would be in my regular size 7. The insole is padded well and these feel almost like slippers on your feet.

The toe still has the large double-T logo like the Reva Ballet Flats.

They come in other solid colors like red, yellow, orange and light blue. They fold in half to make it easy to slip in your purse for travel. This color looks so versatile and maybe better than a true metallic gold or silver.

Super cute! Really comfortable!

Have you tried the Minnie Travel Flats?

~ Cece Metallic Ballet Flat, Metallic Silver, size 7 ~
I am a huge fan of the Cece Ballet Flat and was happy to see J Crew brought them back. The Emma Ballet Flats were too tight in the toe-box for me and just uncomfortable. I like the Cece’s because they are comfortable, have a slight hidden wedge and the leather ones have held up very well for me. I wore a pair during a really bad rain when we were in NYC and after drying out they weren’t damaged at all.

There was something about these in Metallic Silver that I didn’t quite like. I think in a certain light the silver looked gold. At first I thought I was sent the wrong ones, in Metallic Platinum but I checked the order form and box to be sure.

These do fit TTS, as my size 7 fit perfectly. I ended up returning these as the color really bothered me. I also realized I have several different Metallic Silver shoe options in my closet.

Do you like the Metallic Cece’s?
