Wow! I’ve had these two reviews in the hopper for a while. I’ve worn both a few times already since receiving them.
Have a Great Day!

I saw the Embroidered Stitchtake Dress in the window of my local Madewell a few weeks ago and just had to go in and try it on. It comes in Onyx and Bright Ivory, which is what I saw in-store. This looked large on the hanger so I grabbed a Small. The fit is great in the Small and, for the shift silhouette, doesn’t look too roomy. I know I would have been swallowed up in the Medium. Those of you taller ladies will want to watch out for the short length. I am comfortable with it, at my 5’2″ height.
I love easy dresses like this; just throw-on-and-go. The embroidery is so beautiful and I love the blue contrast against the Ivory background. I think to be a little different the Onyx might be nice to buy instead. And as a bonus, it does have pockets!
Have you tried the Embroidered Stitchtake Dress? Which color would you get?
I love that my birthday is right around a Holiday. All the sales keep my head spinning. Add to that the birthday gift cards burning a hole in my wallet, ready to be used.
I have said gift card to Anthropologie and love a lot from the July new arrivals, along with a few Tag Sale items. That makes it really hard to choose what I want, that I will wear more than once. I think I’ve narrowed down my choices though.
Both the Sorin Halter Tank by Deletta and the Valley Green Tank by Moth fit in nicely with my Summer clothing needs. They both have colors that work with the shorts I already have. I do hope the green in the Valley Green Tank is as saturated as it looks online. And how darling is the Frenchie Dress by Essentiel Antwerp? But maybe a little too darling and kitschy for my style.
A little review of the Kirsi Dress by Kavita Bhartia. MamaBella bought it on a whim when she was here last week. It was a return and the only one in the store. The dress was a Large and though I think it fit her just ok, she was satisfied enough with the fit to buy it. I recommended to her to have it taken up at the shoulders about a half inch to fit a little better on her. I think she would have done better with a Medium or Medium Petite meaning I would size to a Small in this dress. The embroidery is what makes this dress. I originally thought it was from something by Johnny Was or something she found in a boutique somewhere that someone had handmade. It is gorgeous.

J Crew’s LONGWEEKEND promo of 40-60% off sale items is ending today. Included in this promo, for today, are some full-priced “July-Ready” Styles at 40% off.
First, did you know that the Tortoise Flower Necklace is back? I saw it this morning when I was looking at the July-Ready styles.
There are quite a few full-priced items included in the 40% off LONGWEEKEND promo, under the July-Ready section. I like the dark wash of the Lookout High-Rise Crop in Parker Wash though I am trying to stay away from skinny jeans for Summer. But, it would be good to have a pair ready for Fall. I have the Vintage Apricot and Quarry Green in the 4-inch Chino Shorts. I’m really surprised at how versatile these two colors are, especially since the Quarry Green looks light gray to me.
I have a last few items from J Crew’s latest roll-out that I was able to try on in-store. The print is the Polynesian Floral.
The issue I do have with the dress is the back. The criss-cross with the opening is still saggy. I feel it should lay flat. I think an 8 Petite will fix that issue for me.
The Polynesian Floral print is cute but doesn’t really “wow” me right now. My store did not have the Postage Stamp Mini Skirt which I was looking forward to seeing.
What do you think of the Polynesian Floral print?
