J. Crew is having a promo, through today, where you can take 50% off select styles with GOSHOP. I’m like this promo since it includes quite a few basics on my wishlist. I first need to mention the Cashmere Double-Faced Scarf in black or blue that can be found in the Men’s section of this sale. I have the black from a few years ago and Husband, The Boy and I all switch around wearing it. I’ve ordered the blue this time. The Lightweight Wool Jackie in Sherwood Green is so pretty and one I would consider a basic color. But I do have a Cashmere Cardigan in almost the same color so I’m passing on it.
You can also take 40% off sale items with this GOSHOP promo. I bought a few new and sale items from the last promo, which I’ll share with you tomorrow.
I really didn’t think I had shopped all that much after the holidays but I then I really saw all the bags and boxes in my office, waiting to be cleared out. Here are a few of my favorite purchases.
~ Tory Burch Duet Chain Crossbody Bag ~
How classic but edgy is this bag? I can’t believe I found it at Nordstrom during the sale last week. I never noticed it online, but that’s probably because I wasn’t really looking for a new purse. I don’t have a black purse and the leather blossom clusters and gold chain strap dress it up. You can adjust the chain to be a crossbody or double it to be a shoulder strap.
~ Pilcro Hyphen Bejeweled Mid-Rise Jeans ~
I had tried these on previously but decided to wait until they went on sale to purchase them. I already had the Pilcro Hyphen Embroidered Jeans and didn’t want to overdo it on the embellished jeans department. I decided if they were in my size in-store I would buy them. I don’t find these to be mid-rise on me. They sit on my hips in a size 29. They just fit around my thighs so there’s no chance I could have sized down to a 28 for a more accurate mid-rise fit. But they are the perfect slouch right now.
~ Tracy Reese Crochet Lace Mock Neck Dress ~
I found this during the Half-Yearly Clearance sale at Nordstrom. I like the front lace crochet overlay but what I really liked was the the Navy color. I’m on the fence with this one though and think I’ll be returning it. It would be nice for Summer with sandals and I like the look of it, including the higher neck, but I don’t have anywhere to wear it. I have so many dresses I need to clear out of my closet so I’ll make the decision after that’s complete.
Did you find any great deals from the post-Holiday sales?
Yesterday, Ebates notified me of a promo happening over at Nike. All clearance items are currently an additional 25% off with code LEGEND25, through today. I needed another pair of full length tights and some shorts. I love shopping their Lifestyle shoe section and Converse sneakers. I can always find some cool sneakers to wish list.
I caught the sale yesterday when Ebates was 11% for Nike. Unfortunately, it’s back down to 1.5%. The sale is still a great one to shop since it includes Hurley, Converse and some Nike ID products.
Is it too early to start thinking about Swimwear? I usually start looking in January because there are so many fun styles that come out for Resort wear. We have no big trip planned this year but with a pool I always like to have plenty of suits on hand. I was able to finally buy the Tory Burch bikini I wanted from last year but I need a few more as my two favorite J.Crew ones have seen better days. My favorite one-piece is a Nanette Lepore, in this style but blue and white. It is also pretty stretched out and needs to be replaced. I have another one-piece similar to this high-neck swimsuit as well.
I know what I don’t want and like. I won’t get a white swimsuit. As tan as I look in white, I can never find one with a decent lining. Husband prefers me in black and I like prints. Anything that has mesh or sheer panels or has too many cut-outs are a no as well. The tan lines would drive me crazy trying to even them up. And any suit that is just for the pool deck and not the pool is not on my list either. Can you imagine trying to dry the sleeves on this one? I do like retro styles like this one by Oye or this Norma Kamali.
Are you shopping for Swimwear yet?
J.Crew is having a promo off sale items with code SHOPSALE. They have a small batch in their 50% off section that’s worth taking a look at. If I knew these snakeskin boots had a wide-calf I’d order them. If you are looking for a glittery shoe that won’t leave sparkle everywhere you should try the high-rated Coated Glitter Pumps. They net $100 and are still available in all sizes. Coated glitter is so much better. I have some Kate Spade glitter pumps and you can follow my trail of glitter to find me.
I know J.Crew had a really really bad day-after Christmas with all sites and stores being down most of the day. I was a bit put off by it but am glad I didn’t chance ordering anything that day. The gift card I received isn’t quite burning a hole in my pocket yet. Right before Christmas I was able to purchase the Wolfstooth Dress, which was on sale and had a 40% off promo. I’m excited to wear that for New Year’s and then again in February for a party.
