~ Fair Isle Crewneck Sweater, Ivory Multi, Medium ~

I always think Fair Isle sweaters look weird on me. I think it’s the pattern especially when it’s smaller like this one. I do like that the pattern matches when connecting from the body to the arms. Because we all know J Crew could have screwed that one up. Anyway, this fit just fine in the Medium. I usually don’t size down in sweaters unless they look over-sized on the hanger.

JC_FairIsleSweater_Front

I definitely prefer the Ivory Multi over the Breeze Multi in this sweater.

~Pull-on Pant in Lace Floral, Black, size 6 ~

I think the only reason why I grabbed a 6 to try on instead of my instinctive and normal size 8 was because the waist is elastic on this pant. The size 6 fit very well so I would say size down in this pant.

JC_LacePant_Front

These are normal length on me. I have a pair from Ann Taylor and they are fitted so I appreciate the slouchiness of these. If the Collection Pull-on Sequin Pants are too pricey I would suggest these. I mentioned in another post of pairing the Sequin Pants with my Tartan Shirt (Stewart Plaid) and these would be a great substitute, despite not being sparkly.

~ Knit Top with Fun Fringe, Grey/Black/Ivory, Small ~

I thought I had grabbed the Medium in this top so I was disappointed it wouldn’t even zip up in the back. But even the Small was really really snug which makes me think the Medium might not fit well either.

JC_FringeTank_Front

The material feels like ponte and very stretchy.

JC_FringeTank_Side

But the fringe is a mess. When you put this the fringe is all bunched and twisted together. You can kind of see it behind my hand in the pic above. You have to comb the fringe down with your fingers. There are three layers of fringe so it’s a bit annoying. The “fun fringe” is a PITA.

~ Martie Pant in Sequin Herringbone, size 8 ~

The material on this Martie Pant is the same as The Perfect Party Skirt, a sparkly herringbone.

JC_SparklePant_Front

The size 8 fit well in the hips and thighs on me. The length is a little long so I think I might go for the 8 Petite to get the fit a little more snug and bring up the length.  I really liked the pant it would also pair well with the Perfect Shirt in Stewart Plaid to be festive this season.

Have you tried the Martie Pant?

I’m trying to get through these reviews as fast as I can before Black Friday shopping so forgive me if I just get straight to it.

JC_Scarf_GraySweater

~ Plaid Pom-Pom Scarf ~

I liked the scarf, pattern and colors of this scarf but I did not like the pom-poms. The blue bothered me. I know that’s a color in the scarf but I would have liked for it to have been gray instead. It comes in Heather/Natural and Green/Navy as well as solids (on sale). The Green/Navy has some yellow poms, which again, I’m not feeling. Overall, this was a pass for me.

~ Open Cardigan Sweater, Gray, Small ~

I loved this cardigan. I knew it would be over-sized so I grabbed a Small and it fit very well. It’s so cozy and if I didn’t already have one just like this I would have bought it. Our house is drafty so I would probably wear this all Winter long.

JC_LongCardigan_Front

It also comes in Black and Navy. Hmmm, a color I don’t have. I’m hoping I can grab the Navy once it goes on sale.

~ Embellished Dot T-Shirt, Ivory, Medium ~

This was a blog-only try-on. I’m wasn’t impressed by it and have enough embellished items in my closet that adding another would only sit there.

JC_EmbellishedTee_Front

The size Medium fit well, so it runs TTS. It also comes in Navy.

JC_EmbellishedTee_Side

I do like that the embellishments are on there pretty securely. I failed to check if they were sown on or tightly hooked on.

Out of this set I did add the Open Cardigan Sweater in Navy to my wishlist.

Happy Shopping!

I felt really weird shopping in another J Crew store. I didn’t feel like I was “cheating on” my regular store but it did seem like nothing excited me in this other store like it did/does in my normal store. I think I may have had greater expectations since it is a bigger store but the styling and items didn’t have any excitement to them. Does anyone else feel like this when you aren’t shopping in your normal store?

~ Keyhole Shell in Floral Splash, size 6 ~

I saw this online and thought it was trying to hard with the black and splashes of bright color. But then I saw it in the store and liked it a little more. I think it’s because each print is slightly different and the blouse I tried on has more black with the splashes of color feeling more like a background color as opposed to the online image.

JC_SilkBlouse_Front

This is a pull-over style with a single button front. The size 6 fit me fine. There was no pulling across the chest though the armholes were a little snug. I would probably stay in this size and it drapes well in the size 6 and the 8 would be too big throughout the body. Though it’s 100% Silk which meets my main criteria for buying and wearing immediately I didn’t feel like I would wear it that much.

~ The Perfect Party Skirt, size 8 ~

This skirt was a very unexpected surprise. I really try to stay away from buying any skirts that are longer than 22 inches. This one is 25 inches. I feel really short in anything longer than 22 inches or if something doesn’t hit at just below the knee. But I think because this is a pencil skirt and the silhouette suits me well it works. Especially if I wear heels, which will elongate my legs.

JC_PerfectPartySkirt_2

The size 8 fit very well. I would Spanx-it to handle any slight bulges and panty-lines. The material is a Wool/Poly/Viscose mix and isn’t very thick, as the one lone reviewer stated. There is some subtle sparkle mixed in with the material which is similar to the Martie Pant in Sequin Herringbone. I liked that as it helps with the party-outfit theme.

JC_PerfectPartySkirt_Side

The lace is an overlay on the actual skirt and adds about an inch to the length. If I already didn’t have enough “party-wear” this is one skirt that’s special enough to add to my closet.

Have you tried The Perfect Party Skirt?

Did anyone attend the Loyal customer event Friday morning? I tried but my store had the doors locked and no one would answer when I knocked. And I SAW employees in there. Not sure if they didn’t get the memo or were running late but I already felt like an idiot waiting in front of the store when all the others were closed so I left. Anyway, still a little miffed by it but I was only making some returns and was going to buy the sweater below. I have no idea what the promo was either, unlike Madewell’s event this Sunday morning where they will have 25% off. I’m guessing it was 25% off too.

~ Tippi Sweater, Neon Watermelon, Medium ~

I have the Tippi Sweater colors I want except Navy and Black. I don’t have those only because I have them in Cashmere. But I really liked this Neon Watermelon color. It reads really bright on my phone and computer screen but it’s not really that neon bright. It does remind me of watermelon too.

~ Zip Mini Skirt in Feather Print, size 8 ~

This mini skirt is no different in style from the Zip Mini Skirt in Violet Poppy. This fit well in my normal size 8 and hits about two inches above my knee. There’s a back, un-exposed zip, and pockets that aren’t bulky. I prefer the Violet Poppy over this one in this skirt.

JC_FeatherSkirt_Front

I thought I might like the print on this skirt and but I think I prefer it in the Gemma Flats or the Elsie Heels.

JC_FeatherSkirt_Side

The Feather Print seems to be the floral print for November. You can shop all the Feather print items below. I also really like the Feather Collar Necklace but my store won’t get it.

I find the Neon colors don’t sell too quickly so I’m sure I’ll be able to get the Neon Watermelon color on sale, with a promo.

Do you like the Feather Print?

Last weekend I was up in Dallas to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. She’ll be 30 next week, over the Thanksgiving weekend, so her Husband planned dinner and a night out in Lower Greenville.

I knew the weather would be chilly that night so I wanted to be sure and dress in layers since we would be inside and outside throughout the evening. I also knew I was going to wear the Violet Poppy Mini Skirt. I had ordered the Carrie Cami in Blue Grotto and thought it was perfect to bring out the same color in the skirt. I added the Jenna Cardigan in black (similar) and used my Black Lexington Blazer (Rhodes)as my coat. I debated on wearing heels or not, but in the end the heeled Bronson Booties (JC Adele) won out. I was pretty comfortable in them all night. I kept my jewelry to a minimum and wore my new Kendra Scott Amanda necklace in Pyrite. I am not a fan of the brightly colored necklaces and earrings but the Amanda necklace was unique and a better fit to my style. I’ve actually been wearing it every time I go out.

My friend had mentioned she wanted gold “30” balloons. Her cake was from a bakery very near the restaurant.
