Um…yeah. When I get sick I am only capable of doing 100% of what I need to instead of my normal 175% so the blog was neglected. Sorry about that.

But I’m feeling much better and have a ladies lunch today. I’ve mentioned it before (here) and it’s just a way for us to get to know each other. I haven’t been since they got me a bit tipsy at the Christmas lunch. Good thing we were in the neighborhood and not far from my house. But I haven’t been only because I’ve been really busy. I actually have a call scheduled at the same time but that’s what the mute button is for, right?

Here’s what I’m wearing today. I’m so happy with this skirt and the print in general. Also, I’m finally wearing my Charms & Kitsch tee.

Tee & Skirt: J Crew
Shoes: Miu Miu Gladiator Sandals
I was also able to find the Wildcat Ombre Pencil Skirt in my store (size 6). Yay! I tried on the Oak Tweed Pencil Skirt but passed for now. It’s pretty but I have the Contrast Pencil Skirt I have yet to wear and they are the same color family. I tried on the 6 which was a little snug but o.k. and the 8, which fit a lot better.
Have a great day everyone!

I’m sick. Long work days (and nights), not eating right and not enough sleep have caught up with me. I’ve been sick once in 3 years and allergies hit me hard on Saturday. BUT…that didn’t stop me from sucking it up and going to a girlfriend’s Jersey Shore themed birthday party, character dressing optional.

That’s why Husband and I were shopping on Friday. I needed at least a shirt and he was looking for a medallion and/or gold chains and bracelet. He found what he was looking for at Forever 21, which he called “The Hoochie Store”. I LOL’d and told him that some of the clothes weren’t that bad and that I did shop there  every once in a while.

Check us out!

Top: Ross
Skirt: J Crew Nori Jacquard Mini
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: J Crew Crystal Colletto
Tan: My own
I had so much gel and hairspray in my hair it took 3 shampoo-ings to remove it all. But we were a hit at the party and had a lot of fun.
I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

I finally got out of bed and put on some actual clothes since Husband and I were going shopping. And not the kind of shopping we did last time. We had a plan and a list. More on that tomorrow.

I really like this Drifting Jasmine Skirt from Anthropologie but had quite the dilemma trying to find a top to go with it. But I was inspired by Kendi over at Kendi Everyday when she wore hers with a striped top and blazer. I have only mixed prints once since I don’t know if it goes or really how to do it. But I was inspired none-the-less.

Tank: J Crew (2007 or 2008)
Skirt: Drifting Jasmine Skirt by Odille (Anthro)
Espadrilles: Merona Essie in Black
Belt: J Crew Black Patent
So as you can see not only did I mix prints but color as well. I don’t think it turned out too bad. I didn’t get any weird looks either while shopping today.
Have a great evening!

First, who bought my size 6 Wildcat Ombre Pencil skirt??? There are only size 0 & 8 left. 🙁  I hope my store has them.

Here’s what is on my wishlist from J Crew’s New Arrivals from today.

Grecian Moon Dress
Lemlem Lucy Patio Dress
Pineapple Punch Silk Tunic
Lemlem Tiru Tunic in Grey
Camden Tipped Brogues
Camden Two-Tone Brogues
Lemlem Lucy Wrap
Oak Tweed Pencil Skirt
Wildcat Ombre Pencil Skirt
Candy Wrap Mini (would have loved to have seen a pencil skirt in this print)
Cotton Pimm Skirt in Wild Mushroom

Clearly I’m digging the Lemlem items.

Have a great day! I’m still in bed so I haven’t decided what to wear yet. The past two days I did get dressed but they were boring outfits.

I found the J Crew Caribe Espadrille on ebay in navy last month and love them. In Target a few weeks ago I found the Merona Essie Espadrille and noticed they were familiar-looking. I was wearing the Caribe’s and did a quick comparison in the store and they are almost exact.

J Crew Caribe is a size 7.
Merona Essie is a size 6.
The Essie in a 7 for me was way too big while the 7 in the Caribe is a perfect fit.
The way the ribbon lays is the same pattern.
The Caribe has a suede insole while the Essie is soft and suede-like.
The heel height is the same.
The sole is slightly different. The Caribe is all rubber while the Essie is a rubber and canvas.
I don’t know all the colors the Caribe came in but my guess is at least navy and black and possibly red.
The Essie comes in Black, Red, and Gold, in-store and online.
At $19.99 the Essie is a great deal and wears the same as the Caribe, which is no longer available (other than ebay and the JCA Exchange).
Happy Shopping!
