J.Crew is having a pop-up sale with 50% off all sale items using code 48HOURS, good through Tuesday, July 12. I’ve been pretty happy with most of my purchases from J.Crew in recent months but I think it’s also because I’m a bit more thoughtful in what I’m purchasing.

The Gazebo Pants have been a favorite of mine. I have the Navy, White and Market Stripe. I returned the Vintage Green in favor of the linen shorts. I did purchase the Collection Patio Pants in Suede and cannot wait to wear them in Winter. At $100 now, with the promo, they are a really good deal. The suede is gorgeous and I think the Camel will be really versatile to wear. The tweed pants look like a nice option for Fall.

Update on the Patio Pants: I feel these run about the same size as the previous versions in cotton and wool. I took my normal size 8 and though they are not quite at the floor but not cropped I may spend the money to have them hemmed. I really want the cropped look for these pants.

I finally decided on a pair of gingham sandals, choosing the Mixed Gingham Sandals with Ankle Wraps. I do like that the Elsie D’Orsay Heels are gingham printed on leather. I originally thought it was silk or some type of fabric. The Elsie Leopard Pumps are still in my cart and I may finally order them. This seems like the best deal on them so far and my size is still available.

Though it’s not quite the middle of Summer, there are quite a few Summer tops available. I originally passed on the Vintage Plaid Popover, but at $30, it seems like a good deal. That goes for the Bow-Shoulder Top as well. And I like the contrast of the pinks of the top with the olive linen shorts, which I own.

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays of the year, probably because it’s so close to my birthday. I can celebrate all week long. I also like finding the cutest Patriotic clothes to celebrate in. J Crew Factory has the right idea with 50% off everything both in-stores and online, prices as marked. The promo ends Thursday, June 30.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been to a fancy 4th of July party but this outfit certainly would make you sparkle. I think I really need to try the jacquard skirt.

The V-Neck Shell is linen and comes in white, warm red and this pretty reef blue.

Below are some more of my Patriotic picks from J. Crew Factory.

Are you shopping this quick promo from J. Crew Factory? Do you have your outfit planned for the 4th of July yet?

Tory Burch is having a semi-annual sale and you can take 30% off sale items with code EXTRA30. This promo ends July 11.

~ Bridget Dress, Medium ~

This dress had me imagining a vacation to Greece. The Medium fit well and the neckline and hem are beautifully embroidered. I ended up passing on this dress to get the one below but I may have to go back to the store and buy this.

~ Gigi Shirtdress, Hudson Blue Linosa, (Lemon Curd) size 6 ~

I found this dress in-store, while the Lemon Curd is still available online. It’s really cute and perfect for the upcoming 4th of July holiday since it’s red, white and blue. It’s 100% Silk and unlined and has pockets. I was swimming in the size 8 so this does run Large. I tend to be more of a Medium/8 in Tory Burch and rarely size down.

~ Miller Sandals, Dulce de Leche, size 7 ~

I have been wearing my Miller Sandals in Brown Snakeskin almost daily. I love that they dress up any outfit. The Dulce de Leche are also called White but they are really a very pretty cream color. The difference between these and my snakeskin sandals is the double-T logo. On this sandal it’s hard and metal on top with very little give. There is no metal double-T logo on the brown sandal. These do run TTS.

I would suggest calling a store because I know there are items in the store that are no longer online. They can then try to find what you want in another store. This promo is not valid at the Tory Burch outlet.

Are you shopping this Tory Burch EXTRA30 promo?

Wow. I expected J.Crew to finish strong with a percent-off-total-purchase promo. Instead they stuck with the sale promo that’s been around for weeks/months. They didn’t even try to make it special by putting making all sale items and additional 50% off, like the stores are doing, though it is Final Sale in-stores. I did receive an email that stores are giving out mystery scratch-off cards, through Sunday.

~ Carrie Dress in Stripe, Brilliant Sunflower, size 8 ~

This is reminiscent of the Striped Blouson Dress from a few Summers ago, though in the Carrie Cami style this time. It’s a midi-style so I could maybe size to a Petite to make it a little shorter and/or wear strappy heeled sandals with it. I liked the fit of it and it does certainly look better with the top a little blousy over the elastic waist compared to pulled down straight. The yellow is a pretty color though I would prefer a few other options, like a green or red stripe. The outer is silk and it’s lined in poly so not very Summer friendly for South Texas.

~ Short-Sleeve Chambray Shirtdress, Small ~

When I saw this in the roll-out last week I knew I wanted it. I am living in these dresses right now and though it would be a perfect addition to my growing collection of easy-to-wear shirtdresses. The Small fits well, so size down one. The chambray is soft, not stiff. And I ended up not getting this at the time, in favor of the next dress

~ Off-the-Shoulder Dress in Ratti Into the Wild Print, size 6 ~

I was not expecting to like this print or this dress so much. When I saw the print online I thought it was way to busy, but the various greens just pop. There’s a toucan and butterflies in the print along with bright colored flowers. The size 6 fit me well and though I was a bit hesitant to get another off-the-shoulder item, I knew I would wear it a lot this Summer. I’ve already worn it once and received so many compliments on it. The tan I have helps those colors pop, I think.

I’m not sure if I’ll venture in the store this weekend to pick up one of those scratch-offs. Will you?

Though these aren’t included in the current THURSDAY promo, I did want to share my try-ons in case you are considering any of them.

~ Downtown Field Jacket, Canvas, Small ~

This just fit in the Small. I would size to a Medium since I will wear layers underneath this. I really like this classic canvas color. It will go with everything. I have the Deep Burgundy color and the Factory version in Navy so I’m good on this jacket.

~ Embroidered Gauze Eyelet Mini, Navy, Small ~

I consider this a beach or pool skirt. It’s short and super casual. Maybe I’d run to the grocery store in it but I wouldn’t consider it a date night or dinner skirt unless it was a really casual outdoor place. I have last year’s version of this in white. The small still felt big but probably due to the elastic waist.

~ Easy Linen Midi Skirt with Ties, Vintage Kelly, size 6 ~

This skirt caught my eye in-store in both the vintage kelly and lapis color. I was drawn to it being linen and lined in cotton. A great combination to keep you cool in Summer. The skirt has a side zip and then you tie three separate sets of string ties. I would have preferred this skirt without the ties but it’s still cute. This skirt also runs big as the size 6 fit very well. I am a size 8 in skirts 90% of the time, so this one is an exception. I really liked it and would have considered it had there been petite sizing.

Happy Shopping!
