I want to say “Thank You” all so much for your comments, prayers, and emails for my dad. He passed on 2/27 at 4:40 a.m. with my mother by his side. Cancer is an awful beast but he fought it with stubbornness and Faith for 7 years.

Thank you again for keeping our Family in your thoughts and prayers.

It has been a tough week for my family. After attending a beautiful family wedding, my dad was rushed to the hospital a week later. He has been fighting Cancer since 2006 and just doesn’t have the strength anymore. After starting with Stage 4 Colo-Rectal Cancer, spreading to his Liver 3 times and on to his lungs it has now spread further into his lungs and his brain. He has pneumonia now. He agreed to a ventilator but only for a week. We believe he is waiting for my middle brother to arrive.
My son saw him Saturday and that was the hardest thing to see. He was the only grandson/child for so long and they are very close. This is very upsetting for him but he is a strong young man.
Hospital chic is not very glamorous but thank goodness for J Crew Jackie’s and embellished tees. 😉
I’ll be dark for a while but will keep busy reading all of your posts.
Always,

Last Saturday, I spent a foggy, drizzly day at a beautiful family wedding in Austin. There was an early ceremony and then a break until the dinner and reception. Most of us “youngins” hung out in the bar while our parents were in the father-of-the-bride’s suite.

UT Tower: Just as pretty in the fog.
Me, my Aunts and Cousins chilling in the bar.

As you can see, I wore the Jules in Botanical. I was lucky enough to find this in a size 8 when the 40% off was still going on, making it $120. I spent another $30 on alterations and I just love it. The 8 is a perfect fit in the arms and shoulders. The length is just at the knee, very non-Jules. I had the sleeves shortened to 3/4-length and the sides taken in to give it some shape with a slight curve. It came out perfect! I added just my Pave’ link bracelet and my trusty Babette heels to finish the look.
Tons of compliments on the dress, and whole outfit, along with a great band with lots of dancing made for a fabulous wedding. I love spending time with my family! We are a crazy bunch!

A quick trip to the office today was a good reason to break out my new Carousel Blouse. I used the teal from the blouse as color accents throughout the outfit. The cardigan is from J Crew Factory. I am so happy that I made it a point to have these Cafe’ Capri’s hemmed last Fall. I wear them so much more now! I added the Resin Frog Bracelet and my Louboutin’s in Peacock. This shoe is so gorgeous IRL.

I got a haircut about a week ago and am struggling a bit on styling it. The bangs are fine but I am not used to long hair. I wish I had my hairdresser with me daily. Then I’d never have to worry about it. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Have a Great Evening!

I was able to stop by the Factory store recently and had time to try on a couple of things.

Charley Sweater in Lobster, Sz Small – This was only an extra $5 off but I love it. The navy is gorgeous and the sweater is very soft. The Small fit well too.

Pleated Printed Skirt in Red (Heart Throb), Sz 6 – This was a decent fit, if a little snug in the waist. The length is perfect and I don’t mind the Polyester material. Compared to the Color-Block skirts it’s not as cheap looking. AND, all skirts are 40% off in-store.

Dot-Dot-Dash Mini Skirt, Sz 8, Festival Green – This was a very pretty bright green. And wholy moly it’s lined. It was also 40% off but I passed. I would have loved a non-printed skirt in this color, because it is pretty.
Double-Serge Cotton Mini, Sz 8, Deep Orchid – This is a beautiful deep purple color, though it looks blue on my monitor. I had a hard time deciding between this and the Heart Print skirt. I chose the Heart Print because of the movement of the skirt but if this color is in-store next time I go I’ll grab it.
Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Cotton, Sz 6, Bright Spearmint – This color is just slightly lighter than last year’s double-serge mini skirt, which I own, and also extremely similar in color to the retail No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Spearmint. I’d say EXACT. No, this is not lined but, YES, it does have pockets. Also, it was 40% off so I bought it for more than half off of the retail version. I’ve never had an issue with the double-serge factory skirts. They hold up well and I really love the pocket feature.
Heart Print Scarf, $39.50 – All scarves were an additional 30% off but I didn’t grab the style # for this. The blue is a little lighter than the blue in the skirt but it’s cute none-the-less.
Sequin Heart Graphic Tee, Sz Medium – Very cute tee and perfect for up-coming Valentine’s Day. The sequins are securely sown on. I don’t recall the tag price but all tees were on sale and I think this was $16.99 in-store.
I didn’t get a chance to write down any other discounts but the store had a percent or dollar off everything. The tiny sale section was an additional 50%. You can see more Factory options on Rose from 1 More Shopping Blog. If you have a Factory nearby, I suggest you visit it. It will save you more than ordering online.

Have a Great Day!
