I “introduced” my mom to J Crew today. It was a last minute stop after our afternoon “Black Friday” shopping (I don’t do 4 a.m./early morning shopping).

Here’s what I bought her.
Merino Rose Corsage Cardigan in Light Berry (looks more like muted Hot Pink)
Slub Cotton Faded Floral Tee in Dark Charcoal
There were a few other tees and cardis she liked but they didn’t have her size. I also bought her some “hip” jeans (GAP Sexy Boot in Dark Wash) and a Plaid shirt (from the GAP too).

It was a great afternoon with mom but I’m exhausted. I “lost” her, like, 20 times. But we had fun and got some great deals!

And HBD to my hubby who’s now 40!

This is more just pictures than a review. I am usually a Medium in tops but in J Crew tees I’m having to size to a Small due to the fit and length.

The Reindeer Tee (looks like most of you bought this. I like the “porcelain” color on me than the “Glazed Hazelnut”.
The receipt call this one the Vintage Slub Elk Tee. Not sure if there are other colors.
$45.00

I purchased this sweater online in the Olive Ivory color. I tend to wear no color in the winter so I bought this color instead of the pewter. It’s pretty and it’s soft. When I took it out of the package it looked itchy but it’s not. I ordered a Medium, but it runs big all over, including the sleeve length.

I love the boatneck style and I am hoping my store has these and that the Small is more fitted like the website states. Otherwise back it goes too.

I thought this skirt was so cute on the website. It was similar in style to the Deco Shirred Skirt and the Terra Paisley, both of which I have. I was hoping to wear this to a few Christmas and Holiday parties and just change up the top and shoe.

I ordered a 6, which is my normal size. I should have gone up a size. This is way too short. It might look good with nude tights of some kind. Also, it sits at my waist and not on my hips which I prefer.

Actual Waist=30 in
Actual Length=17 in (not 18 in like the website says)

The website says it is a “shimmering champagne-gold jacquard”. It is lined. The shirring at the front is flattering but it’s not enough to make me want to keep it. Back it goes.

***I returned this to the store and my PS told me “We just got that pattern in a pencil skirt.” WHAT!?! Yup…I was so excited. I had to size up (8) but it is so much better (IMO) than the mini (which was MINI). It’s not on the website (maybe stores only) so I’ve included the tag.

I tried it on with the reindeer tee and a cream embellished sweater I already had with red shoes. Loved the look of all one tone and then the pop (really POP) of color. I’ll wear it with the sweater and the Frances Cami in ivory.

A few more reviews coming soon…(there is another reindeer tee in stores).

Our neighborhood ladies go to lunch every month. I go every once in a while only because I’m one of the only 30-something’s. Most everyone else is late 40s and up but it’s still fun and you get to hear all the neighborhood gossip.

I put tights on first but I don’t think I pulled it off so I’m going bare-legged.

With Tights…

Without Tights
The shoes – Love these…the back is so cool. It changes from purple to blue…sooo pretty. (Although I wanted these so badly I didn’t size up in them. Just a teeny bit tight on the left.)

Blouse: Leifsdottier Gathered Top (I didn’t realize it was so sheer, I think more so with the flash.)
Skirt: J Crew Deco Shirred Skirt
Tights: Anthropologie-Eloise Mullion Tights
Shoes: Heartbreak Cutout by Nanette Lepore
Necklace: Faux Pearl w/Chains – Saks Off 5th

What do you think? Tights? No Tights?
