I stopped in to J Crew to return the Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane and try on the size 8 to see if that fit any better. It did fit better through the shoulders, arms and chest but I felt it to be a lot longer than the Petite.
Having now tried on the size 8 and comparing the images, there is no pulling across the chest in the 8 compared to the 8 Petite. I think it makes me look slimmer too so maybe the longer length is better…hmmm?
A new sweater showed up in store, the Embossed Floral Sweater. It looks flocked to me but according to J Crew the design was made by “needle punching”. Only the Graphite Mist was in my store but I actually think I like the Navy Sea better. The 3/4 sleeves are bracelet on me in the size Medium. I would say this is TTS.
I’ve been hesitant to buy the Jeweled Fair Isle Stripe Sweater because 1) I have so many sweaters and not enough cold days to wear them and 2) cleaning this would be a b**** because of the 227 jewels on this sweater. My had 226 1/2 as there was one on the 2nd row of red hanging by a thread or two. The Medium fit fine but the hanging “jewel” completely turned me off of the sweater.
Lastly, is the Cable-Knit Pocket Sweater in Snow. I have a Cashmere Tee in Snow and it is White. This is Ivory to me. I have on a Medium and it fit fine but the pockets added bulk in the belly area. See it on Gigi here, along with the Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane.
Thanks for these reviews! I've been eyeballing the silk tee in diamond tile – what did you think of the material? Do you think it's sheer at all?
Lisa – I did not find the Silk Tees to be sheer at all. With my skin color I can tell right away if something is see-through. And the silk felt nice against the skin.
I finally tried the window pane tee today and like it, though not sure I love it. It was an off fit in the other print – which is odd for the same style. Like you, I will be adding to the "maybe" file. Thanks for the reviews!
Thanks for stopping by JulieStyles!
