J Crew Factory Seersucker Dress

Recently Gilt City had a free coupon code for 25% of J Crew Factory. All you had to do was claim it. As soon as my code came through I used it. No waiting for me. I ordered several Polos that were on promo for both myself ($14 each in Mint and Navy) and The Boy ($12 each…can’t be that!), along with a men’s Lobster Tee, Lobster scarf (orange one), Cardigan and the Seersucker Ruffle V-Neck Dress.

I ordered a size 6, confident about that due to my last try-on of the Blakeley Factory Dress in Vintage Zebra Stripe. It’s a perfect fit all over. Currently the V-Neck is held together by some thread but I expect that to break any time. I will be replacing that with a little snap button.

It also comes in a Neon Persimmon, which reads pink to me online. The dress is Cotton with a Cotton lining. Perfect for summer. I expect it to be scorching this year.

Who doesn’t love a little seersucker to prep it up a bit? I have pants, shorts and a vest all in seersucker and love all of them. I think this will be great for my upcoming trip too, with a little cardigan and Cece flats. I have on the Seville Espadrilles in Navy in these pics. Look for a “Shoesday” post soon on those!
Right now, the dress is $59.50 online. I also just received an email stating most Factory items in store were up to 50% off. My guess is this dress is at least 30% off in a store but off the full price of $98. It doesn’t hurt to call and see.
I expect there will be New Arrivals at the Factory soon. Everything is looking a little repetitive. Especially since they are currently having a “Clear the Clearance Event with 30% off Final Sale” (use code GETMORE).
Have a Great Evening!

You wear the dress very well. Never thought about putting a snap button…may have to try that.

Blue Booby – it's so easy to do. I have no idea why they won't just add a snap instead of sowing. The thread breaks, if not upon try-on, then at the first wear. I actually had a wardrobe malfunction once at a really ice restaurant with a table full of men. I had half the restaurant staff looking for a safety pin. I carry them with me now just for that reason.

The dress looks *so* nice on you! You inspired me to order it, in both colors. Used the gilt voucher, too! Thanks for the review!! 🙂

Just Visiting – Report back on the Pinkish color. I'd love to know if it's really pink or more red in tone.

adorable on you, Audrey. I just ordered it too, with the gilt voucher. I don't have a factory near me, but I have the retail Zebra blakely; am hoping that the sizing is the same!

Seersucker dresses aren't easy to find — thank you for pointing this one out!

Audreys – the sizing is almost the same with the Factory version a touch looser. Not enough to notice much and should fit perfectly in the size you purchased!

Rose – Thanks! I saw your reviews and love the Dot Popover in Navy. I will be near my Factory store next week so I hope to get it.

I, too, am biting on this! You inspired me to break my "no-shopping for a month" rule. Can't pass up a good deal.

Sorry for enabling Amy, but as audreys said, a good seersucker dress is hard to find. Ad it is a great deal, especially with the Gilt coupon.

That looks great on you. The Blakely didn't do so well for me, so I'm not sure about this. I'd be worried about exposure at the neckline. Love the seersucker, though. Once Mini G is much older I can consider clothes with a little fuss. I recently swung to way more casual as she's gotten even more active.
