I’ve been waiting to wear the City Mini in Dublin Tartan after the holidays to see if it could be done and not look like a  “Holiday” outfit. It was such a sunny day to try this outfit and I’m extremely pleased with how it turned out. The navy Tippi changes the look from Holiday to Plaid Mini Skirt outfit. I was originally going to wear camel tights and boots but the weather was so nice to go with wedges only. The second pic shows just how blue and pretty our sky was today. Love seeing that instead of clouds.

So I’m thinking Green for St. Patrick’s Day. What do you think? Any other ideas for getting more non-Holiday outfits out of this skirt?

Just a really quick post on my Christmas Day outfit. I was very festive. I wasn’t fond of this skirt when I originally tried it on but I went to J Crew on the Friday before Christmas and they had it styled so festively I couldn’t resist it. I changed a few things up but now I really like the skirt and will wear it again…probably with the navy Tippi.

I know I say this way too much but How handsome is this guy? I can’t believe he’ll be 17 in less than 2 months.

I’m admitting to another obsession today…the color mint! I cannot seem to get enough of this color. How did I know I was obsessed with this color? I purchased a pair of Lace Crochet Shorts because they were mint-colored. Can you say “Intervention needed“? I returned them within 24 hours. I have no idea what I was thinking with that purchase.

But, I do have some mint-colored items already in my closet that I wore this week for some training at my Corporate Office.

Inspired by this look from the January 2012 issue of In Style magazine, I couldn’t wait to wear green and purple with leopard boots. I tweaked the idea a little as I just love the J Crew Sterling Skirt and wanted to wear that instead of my Viridian Green Pencil Skirt from last year.

 
And my take on this outfit…J Crew Tippi Sweater, J Crew Sterling Skirt, J Crew Jello Mold Bracelet, Ann Taylor Booties.
I seriously considered adding Leopard boots to my Fall Shopping list but knew I wouldn’t get much use out of them. The booties I have are way more practical and pretty comfortable too.
The next day, I had to consider the weather outside and inside the training room. Why do they keep those rooms so cold? I adore my Kate Spade Karolina Heels in Aqua which matched the little hints of mint in the Jessie Blouse. The Wool Cafe’ Capri pants might be from last year but maybe even the year before. These were one of the items I had altered and am so happy I did. I think the length is perfect now and I also had the cuff removed from the hem. A skinny mint belt keeps it all looking professional and polished.
Just a few more days left until all of our shopping efforts are appreciated, right? I have stocking-stuffers to buy and some treats to make but I’ve been done with shopping (for others) for about a week. I was even able to get a little treat for you! Yep, a Give-Away will be coming next week so be on the look-out?

A few outfits from my recent office visits. The first outfit is one I copied exactly and originally planned to wear earlier this year but due to the cold weather changed out the bottoms that are in the second pic below. I love the color combo and the heels are one of my favorite pairs.

Next up are the most comfortable dress pants…EVER! I found these Cashmere pants on ebay last year and love them. They are not lined but I’m ok with that. I stayed in the Cashmere family with a Cashmere Tee. I was cozy all day in my fabulous pants.

I’m so excited for this evening as Molly from Anthromollogies is having a Holiday Event at my local Anthropologie. It’s taking all my energy to stayed focused on work and not run to my closet to figure out what I’m going to wear. I hope to Tweet some, if my phone cooperates.

I love Central/South Texas Fall weather, when it finally arrives. It
means that it’s now cool enough to wear some light layering and BOOTS! I
have become very picky with my boots selection making sure I have the
right style, color and that, most importantly, they fit over my thick
calves. It’s so disappointing to try on a pair I’ve fallen in love with
only to find they won’t zip all the way up. Pull-on styles are the worst
for me as I eventually will split the seam. But when I do find the
right ones I’m excited to wear them as much as I can.

Monday
was an office visit day. With the weather having cooled significantly
(90 to 60 overnight!) I was happy to break out the wool and boots. Of
course, this being Texas, you have to dress for the temps to heat up by
mid-day, so light layering really is required.

My love for the JC Blythe Blouse is Polka-Dot is undying. I think the shade of white and the light gray dots are perfect. Any darker and it might not have worked. I don’t think I would have like any other colors together either. If I could get away with wearing this daily I would. It’s perfect alone or layered under every color or pattern, IMO. I added the Tippi Sweater in Navy. Not sure why I never originally owned it in this color but Gigi discussed it at one point (sorry can’t find the link) and I realized I did need it. I have the S/S Cashmere Tee in Navy but that’s a little thicker. The Tippi is thinner and great for laying or wearing alone.

I also couldn’t wait to break out my JC Wool Pencil Skirt in Viridian Green. Such a gorgeous shade of green going well with Navy. I added my new Corso Como Samual Boots in Brandy, purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. My go-to Classic Pavé Link Bracelet and Loft Link Necklace finished the look. I wear this bracelet ALL.THE.TIME. The CPW is coming down almost daily.

I did something different in dressing too. I tucked in both my blouse and sweater. I am not a “tucker-inner” type, especially with an outer layering piece. I always feel like a belt is needed when I tuck but I think this looks nice and possibly lean.
