One of the ways I use my Stylebook App is by putting together a few outfits with a new item I’ve bought. It helps me decide if that item will be used more than once or if I need to return it. I did just that over the weekend with the Pleated Lattice Skirt in Distressed Quartz. I was able to style 5 different outfits to wear from Summer to Winter.

~ Summer ~
~ Chambray Short-Sleeve Top (Factory), Lillian Mirror Metallic Sandals in Silver ~

The first thing I wanted to do was make sure I had shoes to go with this skirt. I love the new Suede D’Orsay Flats in Grey but don’t want to really have to buy new shoes to go with the new skirt. I also didn’t want to pair anything too bright or harsh as the Distressed Quartz color is so very feminine. Either Silver or Gold would look nice with this skirt, and this outfit in general. The Chambray Shirt is great to wear button-up or even layered over a tank or tee. You could also use a long-sleeve Chambray Shirt and roll the sleeves.

~ Pre-Fall (September) ~
~ Vintage Denim Jacket in Recycled Indigo Wash (Factory), Silk Sleeveless Blouse in Heart DotFrye Anna Leather Oxford ~
I really liked this look when I styled it in the dressing room. I subbed out the solid black for the Heart Dot blouse. Roll the sleeves on the denim jacket and add some cool leather oxfords and you have a nice little football game outfit.

~ Early Fall (October) ~
The small pop of navy brings the all neutral outfit a little extra color. This would also look great with the Navy colorway. Any nude heel will do. These and the Kate Spade Kiki Wedges are my nudes right now.

~ Fall (November) ~

This was the other dressing room outfit I really loved. I have the Clare Cardigan in Cabernet. I could have paired this with the Factory Sylvia Wedges in Cabernet but I like the pop of Leopard with all of this.

~ Winter (December) ~
~ Cashmere Tee (Tippi), Printed Silk Two-Pocket Blouse, Printed Every T-Strap Heels ~

Add some matching tights and you are ready for work. My Winters are not very cold so I could get away with this minimal layering.

There you have it. The Pleated Lattice Skirt styled from Summer to Winter. The Navy would go with each outfit as well. The Hidden Floral print would work with well with 1, 3, and 4.

What else would you pair with this color of skirt?

I was pretty happy last week with everything I picked out to wear for my Capsule Remix. I realized that I need to include an additional top, as a back-up, in case one is not easily laundered (i.e.-Dry Clean Only). I usually know ahead of time what the plans are for the week and if we have anything scheduled for the weekend. Last week, though, I originally was not scheduled to go in to the office on Friday, but luckily I had already planned out to wear my favorite outfit.

For this week’s remix, I have to plan around the weather. We already dropped to the 60s and had quite a bit of rain. My original plan was shorts and skirt but I have changed that to jeans and pants along with long-sleeve blouses and a few lightweight sweaters. Everything this week is J Crew, except the White Denim Jeans.

Lest you think I’ve stopped shopping during this remix, I have some Mother’s Day finds from The Limited, Banana Republic and Anthropologie coming up this week!

Did you hear???? J Crew now has REVIEWS online! Will you take advantage of that new feature?

I found a few outfits I hadn’t posted or Insta’d so I thought I’d share them with you. I always like seeing styling ideas from other bloggers. Both outfits are all J Crew.

See my other recent reviews here and here. Be warned..lace, crochet and sheer. Oh My!

Crocheted Lace Tank, size Small, Haven Blue – This tank is not my style but seems to be popular. It comes in three colors. The other two are Heather Fog and Sweet Vanilla. I do like it with it paired with the Light Citron Lace-Stripe Skirt. The Small was a good fit and I wouldn’t size to my normal Medium. Overall, a pass for me.

Lace-Sleeve Sweatshirt, size Medium – Blech! Seriously, I think this is hideous. The CFS says they took organza from a wedding & party dress and put it on a sweatshirt. Do you know how quickly this lace will tear or snag? It’s why it’s on a wedding dress…because it’s only worn once. Well, twice, since you take pictures in it too. I’ve seen this layered with a button-down underneath and it doesn’t look any better. Sorry to bash it because it will appeal to some people but this is another item I wouldn’t buy on deep discount with a promo.

Metallic Linen V-Neck Sweater, Small -Now I really liked this sweater, even before I put it on. It’s very boxy and sheet but I like how it looked over the Silk Crepe Maxidress. It will require a cami underneath but for a night out this will be cute to wear, maybe with the Factory Coral Tweed Shorts. I have a some vacations in the next few months where this outfit will do nicely. There is a panel at the sleeve that is more sheer than the rest of the sweater. I guess to give it some contrast? It’s supposed to be relaxed so size down.

Perfect Shirt in Crosshatch Linen, size 6, Lemon Pulp – I have several colors of the Perfect Shirt in Linen in various sizes as well (6, 8, 8P). This fits fine in a 6 but I probably should have taken my normal size 8. It’s not that bad except for my problem areas (shoulders/arms). The Lemon Pulp is pretty bright but love that this will punch up any white, navy or black bottom this Summer.

Merino Silk-Panel Sweater in Windowpane Floral, size Small – I like the Silk-Panel sweaters because they are easy to throw on over a pair of jeans and heels and go. I feel comfortable but still chic in them. This one is called Heather Dove and look like a very light Pewter. I’m on the fence about this one though. I’m not sure I like the color against my skin-tone. It will hang out in my closet until I make my final decision.

Linen Cubist Print Tee, Small – I ordered this as a ride-along and love the colors in it. It doesn’t look too bad with the Collection Pyramid Brocade Short either. The only thing is I thought I ordered a Medium so I’ll have to be careful when washing this to make sure it doesn’t shrink.

Sorry I’m a bit of hater for this last roll-out. I wasn’t really feeling any of the Lace/Crochet/Seersucker items that showed up. And I have to add Sweatshirts to my “Go Away Already” list. That list includes exposed zippers, dropped shoulder seams and 5+ inch heels. Certain trends just need to run it’s course and go away. You know, like acid washed jeans, neon everything, rubber bracelets and claw bangs.

Hope you enjoyed these reviews. I have some Factory reviews coming up next.
