One new arrival I was looking forward to was the Floral Sweatshirt in Sea Green Gray. I tried both this one and the Navy Navy on and liked this one more. It seemed a little more versatile to me. The Navy ran small on me. I tried on a Small and it ran tight across the chest, while the Gray in Small was a good fit. The Medium in Navy was a better fit but not as slouchy as the Gray in Medium. The front material of the Navy is silk while the Gray is Brocade. I felt I would snag the Navy so I brought the Gray in a Small home with me.

Now, let’s see how well I like it after putting it through the “1 Item, 3 Ways” test.

First, I paired it with the Andie Chino’s in Fatigue and the Frye Anna Leather Oxford. I think I can do better on the shoe with this one but the Floral Sweatshirt does pair nicely with the Andie Chino’s. It will also look great with the Navy and the Tuxedo Stripe. (I’m guessing the Gray Andie’s will work as well but I didn’t purchase those.)

Next, I paired the Sweatshirt with the Cafe’ Capri’s in Iced Lilac from a season or two ago and my Gray Bronson Booties in Suede. This looks really good with the light purple and this color is one I would never have thought of if I hadn’t been trying be creative with this Sweatshirt.

Lastly, is my favorite outfit with the Floral Sweatshirt. I have it on with the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Viridian Green and my Kate Spade Kiki Suede Wedges. The skirt brings out the smaller green pieces in the Sweatshirt. They are almost an identical match in color.
Of course, the Floral Sweatshirt will look great with any type of jean, so I stayed away from using that as one of my items.
Tell me, what would you pair this Sweatshirt with?

A quick trip to the office today was a good reason to break out my new Carousel Blouse. I used the teal from the blouse as color accents throughout the outfit. The cardigan is from J Crew Factory. I am so happy that I made it a point to have these Cafe’ Capri’s hemmed last Fall. I wear them so much more now! I added the Resin Frog Bracelet and my Louboutin’s in Peacock. This shoe is so gorgeous IRL.

I got a haircut about a week ago and am struggling a bit on styling it. The bangs are fine but I am not used to long hair. I wish I had my hairdresser with me daily. Then I’d never have to worry about it. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Have a Great Evening!

MODERN RED
I completely missed out on the Bubble necklace originally but was lucky enough to find a gray necklace on the JCA Exchange. J Crew has brought this back in Black and Modern Red.

Description from J Crew: We brought it back: the defining J.Crew statement necklace (it’s an icon) in 18K gold electroplated brass with hand-set resin cabochons and beads. Lobster clasp closure. Import. Length: 24″ with a 3″ extender chain for adjustable length.

Here it is IRL. I’m not sure if it is worth the $150 price tag. A pair of shoes or a pencil skirt, definitely. A necklace, umm…not so much. But, the Modern Red color is a gorgeous red. A true red in my opinion. I’ve seen the black in-store as well and it is just as pretty.  I’m on the fence with this one.

HOLIDAY PUNCH
Next up is the Cashmere Lined Leather Gloves, in Holiday Punch.
The chicest way to keep cold weather from getting out of hand, in the softest, most supple Italian napa leather (luxuriously lined with cashmere).

As soon as I saw this color I had to see it IRL as well. I ordered a size Large, which is a perfect fit. This is such a juicy, vibrant color. It comes in Black, Light Walnut and Celestial Blue, which looks just as gorgeous as the Holiday Punch. Both colors look like they will liven up a nice camel or black winter coat. The leather is soft and supple and the lining is comfortable and cozy.
MARASCHINO CHERRY
Lastly, I have the Cafe’ Capri in Wool in Maraschino Cherry. As soon as this color popped up online I ordered them. They were back-ordered until last week and arrived Tuesday. They come in Black, Yacht Blue, Navy, Baked Citron, Bright Dahlia, Camel and Port Wine.
I already have these in the Camel and ordered my normal size of 8 in J Crew pants. It was very hard to capture the true color of these pants. I am wearing them with the Juliet heels in Poppy and the Silk Polka Dot Tee. The heels are a bolder red, like the Bubble Necklace. The last picture was the best I could get with my point-and-shoot and standing about 15 feet away, zoomed in and flash on.

What do you think of these reds and pink? Are you interested in the Bubble Necklace this time around?

I was just doing a quick scan of the J Crew website and found two new colors of the Cafe Capri in Wool and I’m so excited with what I just saw.

Maraschino Cherry
OMG! Could this be a true red???
(expected to ship 9/26/11)

Port Wine
Oh, I hope this is just as beautiful IRL.
(expected to ship 10/03/11)

What do you think of these two new colors? I ordered the Maraschino Cherry. I was just thinking today that I really want a true red pencil skirt but I think I can settle for a red pant.
