J.Crew’s latest promo, YESPLEASE, ends today. You can take 30% off a lots of styles as well as 40% off sale. I took advantage of this promo in-store and brought some full-price items home with me. Let’s take a look.

~ Pleated Cropped Wide-Leg Pant in Glen Plaid, size 10 ~

These lovely pants were included in the promo. I was going to order them but happened to stop by my store and they had them available in almost all sizes. They did not have a size 8 so I grabbed a size 6 and a size 10, just to gauge fit so I could order them. I really feel these pants run small. I know I’ve been having some sizing issues due to weight but I can still fit in my size 8 pants from years prior. And I’m still wearing size 29 pants and jeans from this year just fine. I think the sizing issue has to do with the pleats starting at the hip line. Despite sizing up to a 10, I loved these wide-leg pants. I plan on wearing these wide-leg pants not only for dressy but not formal occasions but also trying to tone them down with a tee or jean jacket or maybe even some Cons. I found this Cashmere Audrey Sweater at Talbots in Dark Nightfall that goes very well with these. I’ll be sharing my styling ideas for these pants next week.

~ Gazebo Pant, Ivory, size 8 ~

I have these in black (styled) and love them. These have had a second price cut and are now $149.99. I still ordered a size 8 though a 10 might have fit a little better. They were F/S so I’ll make them work. I love these lace pants and am going to try to winterize this Ivory color. If I can get the right combinations I’ll share those style ideas with you.

~ Short-Sleeve Popover in Chambray, size 8P ~

I usually get this popover in a size 6 but the chambray was all sold out so I ordered the 8 Petite. That fits a little more closer to the body and is not as loose as the 6. I think I’ll get quite a bit of use out of this chambray shirt.

~ Elsie Pump in Tweed, Ivory/Burgundy/Pink, size 7 ~

I can take a 6 1/2 or 7 in the Elsie Pump, depending on how long I think I’ll wear them. I think I would probably try to wear these for long periods of time so I ordered the size 7 to accommodate foot swelling. They really fit in the toe box but the length is just a little too long. I don’t walk out of the size 7 or anything like that. I love this pink tweed pattern and color and am happy I chose it over the skirt or blazer.

I bought the Club Collar Shirt in Gingham in the White Cabernet and I can’t wait to wear it with these tweed heels.

Here are a few more of my picks from this promo. I have the Factory version of the Excursion Vest in Flannel. I don’t really care for the gold buttons on the pockets of the retail Excursion Vest. I like the style of the Factory Quilted Vest a lot more.

Did you take advantage of this latest 30% off promo from J.Crew?

Today’s promo at J Crew is TUESDAY and you can take 40% off select styles as well as sale items. Unfortunately, none of the pants below are included in this promo. Cashmere sweaters are included (huh?!) and women’s swim is excluded but not men’s/girls/boys. This promo makes no sense except that the off-the-shoulder Ratti Dress is included along with the Chambray shirtdress.

~ Rory Pant, Navy, size 6 ~
~ Rory Pant, Fern, size 8 ~

I mentioned in Monday’s post how I did not like these pants. They bunch just below the waist, in the back. You can see it somewhat in the image below and it’s very noticeable in the size 8 in Fern. These are  pull-on pant with a little give in the waist. The tie at the waist is not removable and would probably look best tied at the side. The size 8 was still decently cropped on me, with an inseam at 20-inches, but I wasn’t a fan of how the wide-leg draped. The material is a cotton poplin and machine washable.

~ Cropped Wide-Leg Pant in Heavy Linen, French Blue, size 8 ~

I was excited to try these pants as the color looked gorgeous online and a heavier weight linen would be good for work. They also went with my new #shinyponies. The size 8 was a great fit. The front has pleats and the back is elastic. They were full-length on me and I like how the wide-leg draped. They were lined in cotton in the same color as the pant. The french blue color took on a shade of purple IRL. Of course, they got super wrinkled but they are linen. Though I really liked them, I ended up returning these as I didn’t see myself wearing them as much as linen shorts.

~ Gazebo Pant, White, size 8 ~

I’ve tried these on in the 8 & 8 Petite in navy and vintage kelly. I really wanted these in white and my store finally received another shipment with the size 8. These are a little longer than I want them to be but they fit well. The white is lined but still seems a little see-through. I ended up buying these in the size 8 since the Petite size has been sold out for a while in this color.

The Rory Pants were a dud but the Linen Pants were a hit. The Gazebo Pant should be a permanent staple for J. Crew. I hope this comes out in the Fall/Winter in wool

Pants and a romper are next, with shorts and skirts finishing out the J Crew reviews tomorrow.

~ Gazebo Pant, Navy, size 8 ~

I had ordered the petite size and saw the regular size in-store so I tried them on. I wanted to make sure I picked the right size, whether it was regular or petite. The length in the size 8 is good but not as cropped as I’d like it to be. The waist and hips fit well and I like how the leg just falls straight down from the hip. The wide-leg is a good width and not exaggerated. I love Navy Linen anything and these were really nice and saturated IRL.

~ Petite Gazebo Pant, Vintage Kelly/Navy, size 8P ~

I was able to order these when there was a 25% off promo. I liked the 8P much better because the cropped length is so much more defined. The pant does pull a little more across the hips at first but does stretch some after a little while. The Vintage Kelly is so gorgeous IRL and I just love the Navy. I missed out on the Market Stripe so I’ll try to get the White on promo next.

~ Petite Wide-Leg Ponte Pant, Black, size 8P ~

I’ve reviewed these in the Navy Petite and have worn them quite a bit since then. They are my perfect cropped length and so very comfortable. I bought the regular size 6 in black but once the Petite size was available I ordered that as well. They look great but I decided on returning these and keeping the size 6 just so I could have a floor length option of this pant. I will probably pass on the gray, or any other lighter colors that might be offered in the future. Due to the material, darker is better for me.

~ Drapey V-Neck Romper, Black, Small ~

I was so disappointed last year when this romper sold out so quickly. I couldn’t get it in either color or sizes. As soon as it arrived back online this year I ordered it…and I love it! It’s a bit wrinkly in these pics since I wanted to make sure it fit before ordering another size. This run a bit large so the Small is a great fit. It’s still loose at the waist, doesn’t pull anywhere (shoulders, chest, hips), and has a good inseam. There’s a drawstring at the waist if you want to cinch it a little more, as well as a single button at the back of the neck. The only way in and out of this romper is via the neck. It does open wide enough to step into and pull up. The romper looks really cute with flat sandals and Summer-night dressy with heels.

I am really happy to see a lot more Linen options at J Crew this season. I have been looking for pants and shorts for quite a while in Linen and have purchased at least one of almost every item.

Have you tried the Gazebo pants yet?
