J.Crew will have new arrivals this week and wanted to share some of the faves I’m already in love with!

~ Lemon Print Bandana ~

It looks like Lemons are the fruit of the month for May. You can find it in this scarf, a Jackie Cardigan or contrasting Shell. I still have this Banana Republic Lemon Print Skirt so I’m ready for Lemons in May!

~ Lottie Sandals with Pom Poms ~

The Lottie Sandals are coming out in Suede, Colorblock and Glitter but I like the Pom Poms the best. The heel is low and manageable too.

~ Tippi Sweater in Palm Tree ~

It’s too warm in Summer to wear any type of sweater but I will definitely try to get my use out of this really cute Palm Tree Tippi.

~ Salut! Tee ~

One of the upcoming Style Guide’s images shows this to be purple, but when I check the actual color name, it was Astor Blue. This looks more relaxed than fitted and I ordered a Small in this. There’s also the Made in the Shade Tee and the On Island Time Tee.

~ Midi Sundress in Magnificent Floral ~

Do you recall the “old school ‘Crew” Talitha Dress? Well, J.Crew has brought back the silhouette in a midi dress.

All of these items are included in the HOPTOIT promo of 25% off your purchase. This promo runs through Sunday, so when the new arrivals launch, the promo “should” still be working. I resisted on ordering the Tie-Waist Pant in Madras. I have all the Gazebo Linen Pants from last year that will work for me when I need pants this Summer. I really wanted to love the Ruffle Wrap Skirt in Poplin but it doesn’t seem as “fun” as it did during Fashion Week.

It’s been quite a while since I was in a Factory store but I had an opportunity last weekend. I grabbed things I would add to my wishlist to try on. At the time, the store had 50% off everything, which is the current promo both in-store and online, no code needed.

~ Anchor Sweatshirt, Small ~
~ Striped Sailor Pant, size 8 ~

I didn’t take much notice of this sweatshirt online but it stood out in-store. Probably because the Anchor is metallic rose gold. Interesting that the Factory is putting a little more into their designs. The Small fit fine but I would get the Medium for a looser and cozier fit.

~ Striped Sailor Pant, size 8 ~

These are sitting on my hips and fit really well in the butt and thighs. The cotton-linen blend along with the stripes ensures you won’t see the wrinkles like you would in a full linen pant. The length is extremely long on me. Too long that I might mess up the flow of the leg line if I alter it. I wish they had come in Petite as that would be a better fit all over and the length wouldn’t be as long.

~ Striped Corded Shell, size 8 ~
~ Printed Skimmer Pant, size 8 ~

This shell fits TTS for the style. I usually can tell on the hanger what size will be best, especially in sleeveless tops. This has some darts at the bust so I knew an 8 would work. You can see it’s still pulling a little on the upper part. This is a good work top, if you’re needing one. There is a back button at the neckline and the loop for it is elastic. You don’t need to struggle with trying to fit a tiny button you can’t see into a tinier loop.

~ Printed Skimmer Pant, size 8 ~

I had been sizing up in the Skimmer Pants to a 10 so I stopped trying them on. The size 8 now fits like it should and is not tight anymore. I know that at some point the Skimmer pant was running small but I do think it’s back to TTS. I like this print and the background is an ivory/cream and not white. I’d hem these to make them more capri.

~ Gingham Short-Sleeve Popover, Medium ~

I loved this popover as soon as I put it on. I like that it’s Navy/White and the cotton is really soft. I probably could have sized to a Small but I do like the looser fit of the Medium.

~ Postcard Collector Tee, Medium ~
~ Mixed-Stripe Cotton-Linen Skirt, size 6 ~

The colors in the tee go well with the skirt and fits TTS. Of course you remember the retail popover shirt and dress in this skirt print? I like it a lot better in a skirt version and more casual than a pencil skirt. The colors are actually pretty vivid in both the tee and skirt. The size 6 fit really well and does have an elastic waist so you can raise or lower it on your waist to get the right length for you.

~ Owl Collector Tee, Medium ~
~ Printed Linen-Cotton Sidewalk Skirt, size 6 ~

The tee fits TTS and I had originally grabbed it to try on with the skirt as a different option from a white tee. But I really liked the cute little owl and that it did go with the skirt. The skirt fits the same as the one above and the bright blue and white check are perfect colors to brighten up an already bright Summer day. This is also lined.

~ Short-Sleeve Shirtdress, Small ~

This dress was probably my favorite of everything I tried on. I have the black-and-white Gingham dress from last year but I wear more blue than black. I love that this has a lining that is the opposite of the front – tiny gingham. You can see it on the cuffs of the arms. I found that this ran the same as the retail popover shirt-dresses and I sized to a Small. This dress is so comfortable and the cotton is gauzy-feeling. But don’t forget it’s lined and not see-through at all. I still have, though rarely wear, the Gingham Espadrilles from last year. Not sure how well they would match or if that’s way too much Gingham?

Other items to note: The Lobster sweater is embroidered and not Intarsia knit. I really like that they changed it up for this year. If you’re looking for more lobster, this men’s Watercolor Tee is really cute. The Tweed Lady Jacket is a pretty good looking dupe of the retail version from last year. Lastly, I wear my retail version of the Metallic Canvas Wedge Espadrilles all the time. They are so versatile and go with everything. These will be a staple in your closet all Summer.

I didn’t make any purchases in the store that day. There was another promo that gave an additional 25% off over $100 and that total was less than the Factory store discount. The Short-Sleeve Shirtdress will be a definite keeper when I get it next week.

Are you shopping this 50% off sale? Some items are lower than 50% off and considered “cheep”, just in time for Easter.

Another promo is being offered at J.Crew this weekend. You can take 30% off your purchase with code LOTSTOSHOP. Everything I’m reviewing today is included in this promo.

~ Polka-Dot Cold-Shoulder Top, size 8 ~
~ Cuffed Pant in Shirting Stripe, size 6 ~

It looks like shoulder baring tops are here to stay for Spring and Summer. I do like the cold-shoulder tops a little more than the off-the-shoulder tops because if the straps are wide enough, you can wear a regular bra. Originally, I thought this fit TTS to a little loose for me. I think because I am broad-shouldered, I should wear an 8 or 10. But since these types of shirts don’t have any material constricting right at the shoulders, I can size down. I know that sounds odd but the size 6 fit me a lot better than the 8.

~ Polka-Dot Cold-Shoulder Top, size 6 ~

~ Cold-Shoulder Top, Fresh Poppy, size 6 ~

The size 6 fit great in this silk version of the cold-shoulder top but the straps are way too loose. I don’t know if it was this specific shirt or the silk style in general. I ordered the pretty green Warm Clover color so I am hoping the straps are little more fitted.

~ Embroidered Tie-Neck Top in Printed Indian Voile, size 6 ~

This is a cute top and the cotton is really soft.  I found this to fit a size big since the 6 fits pretty well. You can tie the neck or leave them untied, both look fine. Elastic at the “cuffs” always bother me so this is a no for me.

~ Cuffed Pant in Shirting Stripe, size 6 ~

I’m so happy pants are no longer skinny and there are wide-leg options. I sized down to a 6 in this pant and it fits. The length is even cropped on me! These are very familiar to me. Almost like I wore something similar in this stripe and material as a kid. They are thin and lightweight and not lined, but also not see-through. I could do without the waist-tie though. I’ll either find an old skinny belt or got without.

~ One-Shoulder Ruffle Top in Eyelet, White, size 8 ~

My store did not get these in stock. This was a return, in all three colors. I wasn’t really sure about sizing so I’m glad someone else made the purchase for me so I could try this on. Like reviewers are stating, this runs big. I feel it does run 2 sizes too big. The size 8 is very loose all over. I am happy to say that I didn’t find the ruffle too overwhelming.

~ One-Shoulder Ruffle Top in Eyelet, Black, size 6 ~

The size 6 fit a little better but still seemed loose under the arm. I like the black though the nude lining is close to my skin tone. I’ve ordered the size 4 so I’ll report back on how that one fit.

~ Mini Skirt in Fringy Lace, Renaissance Red, size 8 ~

This red looks more like a true red IRL and the fringe makes it really fun for Spring and Summer. The size 8 fits TTS and on my hips, making the length a little big longer for me.

I ordered the Cold-Shoulder Top in Fresh Clover, the Ruffle Skirt in Cotton Poplin in White and the One-Shoulder Dress in Eyelet. I ordered the 8 Petite in the dress so I’m hoping it works out.

Are you ordering anything from this promo, or any of the prior ones?

J.Crew has a promo ending today where you “buy more, save more”. With code MOREISMORE you can take 25% off your purchase of $125 or more, or 30% off your purchase of $200 or more. I took advantage of this and ordered a few things to try on that my store did not have, whether it was item, size or color.

~ Off-the-Shoulder Stripe Sweater, Small ~
~ Sailor Pant in Heavy Linen, Navy, size 8 ~

The sweater runs a little large and the Small seemed to fit best on me. Since this is a sweater the shoulders are stretchy and not tight. The material is a cotton crepe feeling more on the crepe than cotton side. It’s already too warm here to wear this sweater, unless I’m indoors all day. Still, it’s a really cute sweater and the shoulders stay put with movement.

~ Sailor Pant in Heavy Linen, Navy, size 8 ~

The linen doesn’t give too much so I went with the size 8. They are cute but also a mess. The sailor buttons are functional but you don’t want to use those because there is also a side-zip. Add to this a lace-up back you can use to cinch the pants around your waist for a better fit. The length is absolutely perfect full-length though it’s not meant to be. I don’t have a full-length linen pant and if these didn’t have the lace-up back I would have considered them.

~ Short-Sleeve Popover in Drapey Oxford, Ivory, size 6 ~

I have this popover in Chambray and Olive and love them. I wanted to see how drapey this ivory one was and it’s a little lighter weight making it a little cooler feeling. I realized I have another white sleeveless top I have yet to wear and always go for color in the Summer so this one was returned. Still it’s a nice dressier top than the regular Popover.

~ Perfect Shirt in Piece-Dyed Irish Linen, Black, size 8 ~

I needed a black linen shirt. I wear these regularly throughout the Summer. Surprisingly, the linen Perfect Shirts keep me just as cool as a tee. I had been wearing a size 10 in button-downs but have gone back down to my normal size 8. This is a good basic shirt for me.

~ Linen Bermuda Short, Spice/Black/Bright Flamingo, size 8 ~

I loved all the linen Bermuda shorts offerings from last year. I have every single color so and wore them all Summer long. That’s why it was an easy decision for me to get all three color offerings of this season’s version. I ordered a size 8, which fit TTS for me. The material doesn’t have much give but they still fit a little loose, which I prefer. My favorite color is the black and the Spice will be great through Fall.

I ordered the One-Shoulder Dress in Eyelet. If it fits well I may have to decide between it and the Sheath Dress in Fringe. I’ll share reviews once it come in! Don’t forget to use Ebates before ordering!!

Anthropologie has a nice little promo for us this weekend. With code SURPRISE you can take $20 off every $100 you spend. There are a lot of fun things to choose from and I’ve been looking at all the pretty blouses that Anthropologie has in abundance.

During the 20% off a few weeks ago, my store had a Style Event. I was able to try on, and buy, a few things for the upcoming Spring and Summer.

~ Hei Hei LaRue Off-the-Shoulder Romper, Small ~

I really liked the colors and pattern on this OTS Romper. It originally felt a little like a heavy linen but the material is questionable, and hot, with a mix of poly/wool/cotton and a poly lining. The small fit well and the shoulders seemed to stay put as I moved around. I can see myself looking at this again when it goes on sale.

~ Bailey 44 Joanna Top, Navy, Small ~

I find that I size down in Bailey 44 items usually so it’s TTS for the brand. I liked the concept of the twisted hem and it fits fine but seems a little boring, even with the twisted hem. I have plenty of tees but this is on sale plus an additional 25% off.

~ Sunday in Brooklyn Pirouette Open-Shoulder Blouse, Small ~

This is a really flowy blouse and I feel because of that it does run big. I originally tried on a Medium and was swallowed up in it. The Small fits better but still flowy through the body. I like my OTS blouses I have but was a little leery of the “cold-shoulder” or “open-shoulder” ones. I liked this one and did find another I loved even more. I’m on board with this trend for the Spring and Summer!

~ Moon River Embroidered Gingham Top, Small ~

I grabbed this to try on because I liked the embroidery on this but it runs wide and is over-sized. Drop down one size for this top. The price is right for this top and I would take another look at it when it goes on sale. Bonus that it is lined through the body.

~ Eri + Ali Floral Texture Blouse, White, Medium ~
~ Pilcro Utility High-Rise Cropped Wide-Leg Jean, size 29 ~

~ Floral Texture Blouse, White, Medium ~

I loved this blouse on the hanger and once I tried it on. The detail at the shoulder and arms are so cute and it’s made of 100% Linen, which I love for Summer. The only issue was I felt it was still a little big in the Medium.

~ Pilcro Utility High-Rise Cropped Wide-Leg Jean, size 29 ~

You know I love wide-leg anything and I had to try these on. They also fit pretty well but I felt they had enough stretch in them that I could try sizing down. That little red bandana comes with the jean and is re-moveable.

~ Floral Texture Blouse, White, Small ~

The Small is still wide and blousy, and I know you can’t really tell, but it still fits a lot better than the Medium. I find it comfortable but chic and have already worn this a few times, including taking it on my Vegas trip last weekend. I tucked in the front in jeans to give it a little more shape. I also like that I can still wear a normal bra and not a strapless one. Reviews on this are not good at all but I guess I am the exception. So much that I will be getting this in the Mango color as well. I see myself wearing both quite a bit from now until Fall!

~ Pilcro Utility High-Rise Cropped Wide-Leg Jean, size 28 ~

The size 28 is a much better fit due to the stretch and high-waist. I love the wide-leg and they are cropped on me. YAY! I bought these as well and have worn them with the Floral Texture Blouse a few times.

I really love my two purchases and can’t wait to wear them again. I know this SURPRISE promo isn’t much, as 20% off would be a lot better, but it’s still something, right?

What’s caught your eye at Anthropologie lately?
