Shoes-day: J Crew Factory Sylvia Patent Wedges

I always find it so hard to find the right pair of Navy-colored shoes. The ones I find are either too bright or too dark and not a true Navy. I was very excited to see the Sylvia Patent Wedges offered in Navy during the last Factory roll-out. During the Early Access, they were priced at half off and I also had a 20% off coupon, making them around $57. Let’s see if they live up to my expectations.

~ Sylvia Patent Wedges, Navy, size 7 ~

Though you see a little gap at the heel, these fit TTS. These look a little lighter blue than Navy but IRL they are a true Navy.
The last time I ordered Sylvia Patent Wedges they were actually the Martina, I’m guessing from overstock. This time these are true Factory shoes with a Poly upper. They are very comfortable and padded on the insole. I’m glad they haven’t skimped out on that part.
I have a lot of Navy in my closet but I do have a pair of Navy pumps that are similar in color. I think I would wear the wedge quite a bit though. For the price I paid, I think they are keepers.
Have you tried the latest Sylvia Patent Wedges? Do you have trouble finding Navy colored shoes?

These are cute. Given how popular the Martina (real leather) wedges are at JC, I am surprised that they don't just stock a full line of colors, all the time. I have navy wedges shaped like these from TB, that have reva-like elastic at the back of the heel. I love them and since I almost never wear heels, these will probably be the only pair I will bother buying.

My main reason for commenting, though, is to thank you for pointing out the Talbot's wildflower shirtdress! I just saw your post yesterday and although it is completely sold out online, my local stores had numerous sizes including mine. Yay! It is a beautiful dress. I live in dresses in summer and would have completely missed this if it weren't for you, so thank you thank you! I don't even bother looking through the Talbots catalogs anymore, as I have bought quite a few items from them over the past several years, but I've only held on to a few — and as it turns out, all of them are dresses. Talbots does make good quality, good fitting, and very pretty dresses.

Audrey – I agree the Factory should stocks a array of colors, given the material it's made of.

So happy you found the Talbots dress. That store is hit or miss for me. I have a yellow lace top from last year I wear a lot so I bought a Navy one on eBay. This dress makes the third item I own. I really wasn't sure if the shirt dress would work on me as they never really do but this one is perfect. I love the solid red they offer but that one was sold out in my store. I know this dress will be worn quite a bit and I even plan on wearing it tomorrow with a Denim jacket I found at Loft. Look for the Que Bella post next week in that. It's always nice to find how others where the same item you do. Especially when it's as gorgeous as this dress!

I wear my patent Sylvias in the nude color (can't remember what the actual name is) all the time; they're so comfortable. I scored the black patent yesterday at the clearance center in Lynchburg for $30! I love the navy but I have a pair of Nine West from a few years ago that are almost identical. It IS hard to find a true navy shoe. I've ordered all of mine online – booties, boots, wedges, sandals, pumps, flats (I really like navy!). I have a pair of the retail Martinas in purple suede and I actually think the Sylvias are more comfortable. You'll wear these a lot!
