Shoes-day: Rag & Bone Newbury Nubuck Bootie

My search for booties originally started with finding a pair of Blue Booties, in leather or suede. I don’t know why I want blue other than maybe because I haven’t seen them on anyone and they will go well with my Fall clothes. I stopped by Nordstrom because they almost always have what I’m looking for. I didn’t find any but that may have been because I was distracted by these.

~ Newbury Newbuck Booties, Gray, size 7 1/2 ~
I was originally worried when I tried these on that the heel would be too high and uncomfortable but instead the heel was very manageable. The interior is all leather. I tried on a size 7 in the Newbury in Canvas and found them to be a little too snug, even more so with a trouser sock. The 7 1/2 gave me just a little more room to wear a trouser or thin sock.

The J Crew Factory Quinn Booties in Rustic Gray are on the right. You can see how much more of a blue undertone the gray takes.
These are such a splurge but so gorgeous and I know I will wear them every chance I get. I have found when I buy something that’s a little more on the pricey side, I want to get that cost-per-wear down as fast as I can. Quality not quantity, right?

What has been your latest splurge?

I love Rag and Bone boots and after following you on J Crew Aficionada for some years, I can tell these boots will fit right in with your style. You will love them!

I would love a pair of olive booties. Of course the ones that have the perfect shade and heel are the uber – expensive Marant Dicker ones… I love the Rag and Bone you got

I think blue boots/shoes are one of those rare but special colors because you don't see it too often. I bought a pair of blue leather booties from Saturday (KS) last year but returned them because of the fit. I ended up getting a pair of blue suede shoes from Loeffler Randall last winter and love them. I say you should definitely keep looking for blue ones, I think you'd wear them well (and a lot).
I bought a pair of the Rag & Bone Newbury's last year from Nordstrom Rack. Although I wanted a pair, I didn't think I would ever pay full price them so when I found a pair on sale (I think they were $250), I snatched them up. I wasn't sure how often I'd wear them since they are an dark hunter green color but they are comfortable and different and I love to wear them with pants and skirts.
You'll get that cost per wear down in no time, especially with that great color.
