J Crew Holiday 2013: Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane

Three new silk tees arrived online during some new arrivals and I decided on trying the Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane. I ordered the 8 Petite and probably should have ordered the regular size 8. The 8 Petite fit great through the waist but the sleeves were tight on me and it was a bit snug across the chest. You can see just a touch of pulling in the first pic.

The Silk Tee felt great on. The silk feels very nice against the skin. It is not lined and has a back keyhole with button. I was able to just slip the tee on without unbuttoning it.

The side view is where I found this the most unflattering and made me realize the regular size 8 would be best.

Here you can see the pulling on the arms and across the back.
I do like this tee and hope my store has a size 8 in this print for me to exchange. I’m still trying to get the hang of the J Crew Petite sizing. I found my blazer size in the 10 Petite but pants and shirts are still a bit hit-or-miss.
Have you tried the Silk Tee yet in this print or the Solid or Diamond Tile?

I didn't like it in the solid coral color. I thought it was a bit spring-like and thin. I like the windowpane on you. I like the smaller pattern over the larger one. But, I do think you're going to look pretty in the silk factory pink.

I have lots of catching up to do on your blog, fit twin!!

After seeing these pics again, Gigi, I am thinking I'll just straight up return this blouse and wait for a sale.

I like regular sizes in most of the tops from J Crew. I very rarely wear the petites. The length is where I need petites, but the fit becomes too short & tight in the wrong places. It just depends. Try on the regular. I'm curious to see if you think it's too long or you like it better.

I tried this same one. It didn't wow me. I tried on the blue one in the store and liked it better on me. But I didn't like either one enough to keep. The fit on me was shapeless but I don't think sizing down was the answer either. It just wasn't a good cut on me. I liked the hem, though it was different. The length was good too. So was the neckline. Maybe I should try it again, I guess I do like it !

Cate – I saw the blue in store but I think I prefer the print. I think it is the hem that makes this top interesting.
