Shoes-day: Frye Anna Leather Oxford

Last week at the JC Style Sessions, my girlfriend had the most gorgeous Ralph Lauren brown leather oxfords on. They were so gorgeous and I was so jealous. I started on a mission to find something similar.

I found a J Crew option that had a more spectator look but then discovered the Frye Anna Leather Oxford in Cognac. I love Frye shoes and boots and these are no exception. They have a distressed look and are all leather.

Definitely masculine but the distressed leather in Cognac is beautiful.

I bought my normal size 7 and though they are snug at the instep they are very comfortable. I’d probably wear a light sock or thin shoe liners. I love the look with rolled denim.

Ronald McDonald pose…
And a few other options…
These were $228 and also come in a beautiful dark brown too. I really like the BDG option above and the Fluevog’s too.

Are you interested in wearing the menswear trend on your feet?

Hi Audrey – love these! I am still patiently waiting for the monks straps to arrive – hopefully today or tomorrow! I have always liked the masculine look and always think it is fun, worn with jeans or even a floral dress. If I am not in love with the monks straps, I am still contemplating ordering the mirror metallic oxfords, though yours are definitely going to stand the test of time!

WMM – I saw the men's version of the Monk's and they were gorgeous. Can't wait to see your review of them.

Thanks for the chuckle with the Ronald McDonald pose. Hilarious.

Love these shoes, the leather looks so rich and I bet they are comfortable as all get out. I do like the menswear shoe trend, it's always been a favorite, back to school uniform days.

I bought these shoes too! I really wanted the Cole haan oxford but the sizing wasn't right for me. I saw these Frye's online and ordered my regular size. I LOVE them! They are more feminine on the foot and super comfortable. I also like the sole as it's a combo of leather and rubber….great for the rainy weather I live in. I have the J.Crew mock strap also ordered, but I don't have high hopes for it. J. Crew shoes rarely fit me and I'm afraid they might be cheap in person. The Frye is a keeper!

Love these Audrey! I had bought the Frye heeled oxfords last year and love them. I have several pairs of Frye shoes and all have been uniformly great in size, comfort, and quality. Cannot say that about many shoe lines…

Thank you for pointing out the Fluevog oxfords! I also love Fluevogs, although some are just a little TOO funky, and I've found that sizing (both length and width) varies hugely depending on the specific shoe. But once I've got the size right, these also are very well made, gorgeous shoes! The link that you have above, I think, are actually men's shoes (according to the Fluevog homepage), and I ordered a couple hoping that the Amazon sizing is for men's sizes… Fingers crossed. Can't beat that price.

WMM, I am sort of loving JC's mirror oxfords too, but as I already have a muted silver, I will have to hold off until sale…

OK, I am pulling the trigger on these today! Thanks for the review, very helpful as I don't tend to look at all the sites on my own. These look as though they'll be with me a long time Hope they fit!
