Bright, Bright Baby

I might have gone a little overboard in the Bright / Neon color category with the last J Crew 30% off sale.

Exhibit A
Telegram Hobo in Byzantine Blue
Exhibit B
Sydney Patent Sandals in Casablanca Blue and Neon Azalea
Not enough evidence?  Ok…how about altogether?
Cashmere Tee in Neon Peach
Cashmere Tee in Neon Fuchsia

You should see them all IRL. No flashlight needed when the power goes out. I’ll just grab one of these items to light my way.

I can work with all of these, actually, except for the Neon Azalea Sydney Sandals, unlike Pink Peonies. She’s rocking the Neon Azalea. I walked my closet twice and tried to make them work with at least two things, other than jeans. I couldn’t do it. Those will be returned since that color was not Final Sale.
What do you think of my new brights?

I love the Neon Azalea Sydney sandals, I wore them with my cocodrillo pencil skirt, and plan on wearing them this week with the porcelain paisley skirt. I think they are a fun pop of color that can be paired with a lot of different outfits.

Marietta – I have both of those. What top did you pair with them?

I paired the cocodrillo with a black sleeveless button down shirt, and I'm planning on pairing the porcelain paisley with a white sleeveless button down. I actually wore them with the sunshine peonies skirt today paired with a nude lace sleeveless shell, it looked so pretty! The shoes are bright, but as long as everything else in your outfit is neutral, I think you'll be ok! I kept my accessories neutral as well, a pearl or crystal necklace and simple earrings. The shoes really are the focal point. 🙂

You are hilarious! I like colour, so I like these too!

I almost bought the purse twice but resisted, but I do love it! I like the shoes – I am wondering if you went very neutral – say all navy or white and then the POP of the shoes???

I had both shoes in my cart but put back the pink. I really really wanted them and now I really want them again after seeing them here!!!

Cute! I bought the neon azalea tippi (in wool) on sale this summer, and am going to have to work up the courage to wear it this Fall 🙂 Pretty colors.

How do you find the cashmere tee to run–tts, small or large? I am a numerical size 10, so I never know whether to go with a M or L in items like that (I usually can go M, but have a larger bust). Thanks!

Wendy – I think these run TTS. I normally wear a Medium in sweaters but can do a small in the short-sleeved Cashmere Tees as the arms are not tight. I am an 8 just due to shoulders and arm tightness of shirts and sweaters. HTH!

They are bright, but they will be lovely in the fall with camel. And, the Casablanca blue and Byzantine will be gorgeous with black. I felt the same way about my crystal enamelled bangle. In store it looked appealingly workable, but at home it was piercingly bright.

I was actually thinking of pairing the neon azalea sandals with the cafe Capri in camel and the wildcat Natasha, I think this would be a fabulous combination as well!

I have both of those Marietta! Thanks for the tip!

Love the colors, and they look great with your coloring! The bag is so cute, but I have completely shied away from suede — it just looks so hard to care for! I picked up the sydneys in black, nude, and the pink (would have gotten the blue, which is gorgeous, but had just gotten them in the marcis) and was shocked by how bright the pink looked on! Like you, my initial reaction after trying them on was to return, but seeing these comments, I'm wondering if I should try a little harder. What did you decide?

Nooo–you did NOT go overboard–those are GREAT COLORS for your skin coloring–STUNNING actually! 🙂 Have a BRIGHT DAY!

Thanks for all the comments ladies! I decided to keep them. Honestly the price really was ridiculously low to pass up and the pairings you've said will work! I even wore them today. As soon as my camera charges back up I'll have a Que Bella for y'all!

You can do the brights, Audreybella. I never worry about you & brights. If I didn't tell you, I got the J'Crewlet cotton abstract floral strapless dress (white/black/mustard/cobalt). Always love the pockets. On the fence about yet another strapless dress as I don't reach for them, but when you said cotton I was all over it. Good point. Fabric is great & I love the print. Will be treating it like a skirt, wearing cardis over. Thanks for sharing that!

Thanks Gigi! Glad you bought the dress. I am thinking I'll take it on my mini-beach vacation in a few weeks. I am happy that it was brought back in a cotton. I would have snagged that silk dress to death!
