For real this time – Fall 2010 Arrivals at J Crew

Sorry for the teaser earlier but I’ll get straight to the business because of it! (I tried to take as many flash pics as I could.)

Honore Dress – #27248, $128, Size 6
LOVELOVELOVE this dress! I love the full A-line skirt. It’s so fun and would be a great party dress. It’s cotton and the ruffle-y part in front needs a good steaming. The description says it has a side-zip but this is a back zip.
Coddington Suede Platform Pump – #27920, Black, $228 online, $198 in-store (I should probably go back and get these.) The Dusk Red online is spicy!

Wool Tuxedo Short – #29875, $88, Size 6 – Meh…These would look great on someone with thinner legs than me. And would look great with tights.

Glen Plaid Ruffle Skirt – #28263, $128 (WHAT!), Size 6 – This is way too short for me, especially with all the ruffles. I added the heels and looked HOOO-CHEEE. Pass for me but I know some of you out there can pull of this skirt.

Waverly Chino – #29468, Size 6 – I don’t really do chinos too much but one of the SA’s asked me to try these on. This size was a little snug for me. I tried on the 8 and it fit a whole lot better and looser around the waist and booty. But the length would need to be hemmed.

Silk/Metallic Pencil Skirt – #29037, Color TOL, Size 6 – This is a Collection item and is very pretty. It is not online but I did take a picture of the tag, although not the price. Doh! But I know it was less than $150 and possibly priced at $128 or $98.

Camo Crinkled Chiffon Skirt – #28237, $128, Size 6 – Here’s part of my new hunting outfit. there’s nothing about this I like. From the crinkle, to the diagonal stitching, to the length (15″ according to the website), to the print. Honestly, it looks like someone took the cover from a hunting blind and made a skirt with it. I’m sure if I was 15-20 years younger I could rock it.

Herringbone Bell Skirt – #28261, $79.50, Size 6 – Elastic waist band, no zipper anywhere. I like it but was hoping to see the other colors of the Wool Bell Skirt, like the Henna or English Saddle.

Ankle Stretch Toothpick in Twilight Wash – #27487, $128, Size 30 – Sadly, I have my father’s legs. So I may think I look great in skirts and shorts but give me a skinny pant or jean and I look like I stuffed my legs in a sausage casing. I originally tried on the 29 and wouldn’t walk out of the dressing room, let alone take a picture.

I like the wash. Nice and dark with no whiskered effect or frayed edges and hems or holes. Thanks J Crew for making a normal jean.

Pilar Paisley Cami – #28503, $89.50, Size 2 – I grabbed the wrong size but it’s not too bad. I could probably do a 4 in this.

Bettina Cami – #28505, $79.50, Size 6 – I think I need to give this one another try-on. I was still swooning over the dress. It’s got a “Victoriana-inspired” feel too it. It is still great for the rest of the summer and through the fall and winter layered with cardis and blazers.

Not-the-Calista-Cami-even-though-the-tag-says-it-is Cami – According to the TAG #28506, Color DRO, $79.50, Size 6 – I love this color. And it looks so much better when it’s steamed.

Here it is in the Warm Taupe. When I tried on this outfit I added the Burnished Olive Cashmere Crewneck Cardi.

Sparkle Waves Henley – #30078, $45, Size S – Nothing special about it for me but I know someone else will like it. I’m sure that once I see someone style it I’ll love it.

Perfect Fit Folded Flower Tank – #31180, $29.50, Size M – I missed out on the summer version of this tank and will be wearing this under my Victoria ruffle tees I have.

Cascading Sequin Cardigan – #28145, $118, Size M – Cute, embellished cardi that also comes in gray.

Rimini Cardigan – #29000, $98, Size M, Color NUT(meg) – Similar to the Torque Moto Cardigan but lightweight.

Printed Cardigan (not online) – #28143, $88, Size M, Color ROR

Cashmere Crewneck Cardigan – #18871, $158, Size M – Colors BOL (Burnished Olive) and HAG (Heather Agate) – So happy Cashmere is in my store!

Solid Ripstop Field Jacket – #26994, $98, Size S – Still way too big, even for layering. I’m unfamiliar with the price point on these types of jackets but it looks like a deal to me.

Knit Blazer – #29214, $168, Size 6 – Color UGR – Cute

Marled Knit Thandie Blazer – #29305, $158, Size 6 – I love this cute blazer. It’s a lightweight knit and will be perfect for those mild winter days we always seem to have. I really have no need for a heavy coat except for 4-5 times a year, if that.

So Yay New Arrivals!

I'm still underwhelmed. I'm into fall in my mind, but not interested in trying in hot weather. So many of the pieces are rehashed versions of the most recent seasons. It's very sad. I tried the sparkle henley and I liked it. I don't see getting it, but I thought it was cute. So yah, there are those that will like it. Thanks for sharing great pics! The dress is really cute on you.

Thanks so much for posting all these new arrival try-ons!!

Love the platform pumps, dress, metallic pencil skirt, camis, Rimini and Thandi blazer on you.

    So many irresistibles. 🙂

Gigi – Thanks! I know what you mean about trying on in the heat. Those sweaters were on and off as quick as possible.

ABC – Thank you. I can't wait to see if you get any of the new arrivals and how you style them.

Yay, indeed! Thanks for all the pics. What all did you end up getting? I hope you at least got the Honore dress! I also really like the camis and jackets on you. But I agree with Gigi, it is really hard to get into the fall mindset when it is SO HOT out there! I am there in my mind, though!

Ohhh…good…I don't see much that interests me! The first dress is cute–the top of it reminds me of my Alice ruffle top!

Thank you for trying on so many of the new pieces and sharing them with us! I am headed to Barton Creek Square in Austin tomorrow to see what items they have….the Bettina cami was already out on Monday!

  7. July 23, 2010 / 4:03 am

Thank you for all the new arrival pics – I hadn't seen any of it! I love that Rimini cardi 🙂

  8. July 23, 2010 / 6:29 am

Thanks so much for that, it's such a great help, you look fab in that black dress.

Hee hee about father's legs – I have my father's face!

Thanks for all the pics Audreybella! I love that collection pencil skirt….need to remember to try that one.

The Black dress looks amazing on you! Also, BR is selling a pump similar to the Coddington but at a much lower price point, plus you could get it at 40% off next Wednesday with a coupon. Union High Heel Pump . I usually get the emailed BR coupons so let me know if you want one. 🙂

Thank you for such a great post! I was uninspired by the J.Crew website's new arrivals – and now I am heading to the store today!
BTW – you look fabulous in the Honore dress and the heels are super cute!

  11. July 23, 2010 / 12:50 pm

AppGal – I didn't even say what I purchased. I did not get the dress although I think I'll be going back today to buy it. I purchased the Thandie blazer and the "Calista" cami in the Dark Rosewood.

FFM – Thanks for the link. I like the Olive color of that shoe. If I use the coupon I could get both! I get the emails too so I'll be sure to look for it next week.

  12. July 23, 2010 / 2:59 pm

Thanks for all of the pics! Love that dress on you for sure. FFM – I was thinking the same thing about the BR shoes.

I was a bit disappointed in the rollout as well. I did buy several things (like the bettina cami), but nothing got me that excited. I'd love to see the wool bell skirt in person (esp in the henna & english saddle colors).

  13. July 23, 2010 / 3:34 pm

The black dress in the first pic looks great on you! Love the black suede pumps too!

  14. July 23, 2010 / 3:34 pm

I hope you bought that Honore dress- it looks fantastic on you!! And I'm completely jealous your store has shoes! I might buy more JC shoes if I could try them on… Thanks for sharing!! I just can't think of fall right now, but when I do, I'll def refer back to these 🙂

  15. July 23, 2010 / 4:29 pm

That dress really does look great on you! Thanks for sharing these pictures.. I have been dying to get my hands on the Rimini cardigan. It looks as cute as I'd hoped it be!

  16. July 23, 2010 / 7:08 pm

Love those black shoes! I wish my b&m sold more shoes, but alas, we only get the ballet flats. I love the metallic skirt – it is SO pretty! And priced at 118, which I thought was really good for such a special skirt from JC. Just wish I had somewhere to wear it. I bought the sparkle henley. I've been wanting a sparkly knit top and haven't found one that fit me right, so when this fit (after sizing down), I couldn't pass it by. Good choices, but I think you need the dress and shoes. 🙂

  17. July 23, 2010 / 8:43 pm

The Honore Dress looks like the Alice tank with a skirt. I have the tank and love it. The dress looks great on you!

  18. July 24, 2010 / 1:46 am

It's great to see the clothes on a person, not just the website pics. Thanks for doing that. I am loving a few pieces. The lace skirt is gorgeous. Of course I have no where to wear it 🙂

Wowza, that dress looks A-maz-ing on you! I love the shoes too. There are some things I really like in the new rollout like the jackets and cami's but I have a feeling I will warm up to more pieces as I see them in the bloggy world
