Outfit Dilemma

I need your help. I have a wedding shower to attend this weekend in my hometown. I don’t want to wear something too nice/dressy because I certainly don’t want to outshine the bride-to-be. I have narrowed it down to three outfits, and, apparently all J Crew. (Yes, I have other clothes…I think.)

Here’s the Polyvore.

Here are the IRLs. First up, Tunique Dress with gladiator sandals.

Second A- Vintage Zebra Blakely Dress with Burnished Leather Belt and gladiator sandals

Second B – Vintage Zebra Blakely Dress with Flowerette Sash and nude heels

Third – White Shirt with Linen Sinclair skirt, Flowerette Sash and Nude peep-toe pumps

Which Outfit Should I Wear?

You really look fab in all of these outfits, but I love the zebra dress on you! The flower sash adds a nice touch for the occasion.

I have the zebra dress and I haven't thought of the flower sash which looks so darling. You look great in all these. 🙂

okay i am newer to the fashion blog and really enjoy your posts. i agree with everyone, all outfits are great. personally i voted white shirt.
quick question? why can't you dress the way you like and not have to worry about outdressing the bride? that sentiment is felt not just by you but by me and i am sure others?

Great question Anon. I've personally never seen the bride-to-be in a skirt or dress. Not to say she hasn't worn one or won't that day, I just want to make sure I am put together but not over-do it.

Lolo & JCrewPHD – Thanks for the comments and voting! I grabbed the sash at the last minute to go with the dress.

Zebra dress with the flower sash belt! Hands down, my favorite. I love the others, but you just look so amazing, elegant and stylish in the zebra dress.

I like all the outfits but I love the zebra dress with the leather belt and the gladiators I think its styled very nice and looks great on you. Have fun at the shower.

You look great in all three choices… But I LOVE the zebra dress with either belt! 🙂 Christine

I like the Zebra dress with the BROWN belt–cuz it's actually more of the whole Safari theme…I don't really like the look of the flower sash belt with the Zebra Print dress (which–by the way–looks BETTER on YOU than anyone I've seen wear it–including the Crewgirls). So that tis my vote! smile

while I love the zebra dress both ways, if the bride usually doesn't dress up much, I'd go with the more casual skirt (which I love paired with that belt!).

IMO, the tunique dress looks a bit roomy on you– I'd go w/zebra stripes!

My vote is for the zebra dress w/ leather belt:-)
    Others are pretty amazing too!

I love all the outfits but the zebra dress was my favorite! I thought about my upcoming bridal shower and would love someone coming in J Crew attire, especially this dress! Have a wonderful time 🙂

I personally like the 2nd and 3rd outfits. The white shirt and skirt look refreashing and effortlessly chic

Wow, I see from the voting results that it's a close race! The tunic dress is my second fave, but I voted for the Blakely Dress with leather belt.

All the outfits are adorable though – you can't go wrong!

I like opton B! It will be perfect …the first outfit is to casual for the wedding!

i like the tunic. it's chic, modern, and easy breezy, w/o being super dressy. i love that tunics have that appeal.

are your nude peep toes Christian Louboutins? Do you find his shoes comfy? I am debating getting a pair, the you you's in a nude color. What kind are those, and do you recommend them?
    Thanks!

OFD – I am wearing Louboutin's. They are the No. 90 Prive in Nude. So they have a platform and a 90 mm heel. I think they are comfortable but I also try to stay around the 90 mm or get a platform.

The You You's are a non-platform peep-toe, if I'm not mistaken, with a 3 1/2 inch heel. I think there is more of a vamp on the You You than the 90 Prive's. They are very pretty in the Nude. HTH!

thanks for your help! I may now be leaning toward the mater claudes, which have a platform. I know sizing is all over the place on Louboutins. . . do you usually size up?
