J Crew Sequin Peekaboo Cardigan – 2nd Time Around

So what J Crew tried to do here…
Has been tweaked to this for Spring

The receipt says Bella Scallop Zipper Cardi.

I’ll have a few more pics later but this was a great, lightweight sweater. The only bad thing about this is that if you are tall it will looked cropped on you. This hit me right at the top of my hip. My SA was so disappointed she couldn’t get it. She said it looked like a cropped sweater on her.

Also, the really pretty Tie-Dye Wednesday Skirt is not gonna happen. J Crew didn’t make the skirt according to my SA.

BBL,

Here a link to my Picasa Album with what I tried on/could get in the dressing room.
Several skirts, the Minnie Pant in Denim, some ruffle-y tops.

I saw this zipper cardi at my B&M today (Austin,TX) and heard the SA say she thought it was going to sell out very quickly. It was cute but I didn't buy it. Might try it on if I go back later this week.

I saw your comment on JCA. I might have to take a drive to Austin to check out the Barton Creek Store. Ballet flats?! La Cantera only gets shoes that are returned from online purchases.

I bought this cardi today, and I'm very tall, it's shorter on me, but looks great, just depends what you wear with it.

The ruffle skirt is adorable! I also like the flower skirt, does it have an elastic waist?

How do you think the ruffles will wear on the zipper cardi? It looks like they may flop open?

Thanks for sharing your pictures! I will take a look on thursday.

Audreybella…yes, Ballet flats. This store usually doesn't carry shoes (unless they are returns) but there is a big section in front of the registers with lots of the newer version (cap toe, etc.). Everything was very nicely displayed….but women were loading up new items by the armload.

I LOVE this cardi too!! I purchased it today. Since I am probably going to wear it zipped-up, I sized up one size. This helped me gain a little length as well! 😉

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Great pics. I love the pants on you.

    It look very cute!

txmom – LOL…by the armfuls. I also liked the tees but only bought the purple one.

Kathy – The ruffle skirt was cute. It reminded me of the fancier Ellington skirt. The "fringe" is cotton and it is a mini. The floral skirt has the same material as the ripstop cargos and does have an elastic waist. Not sure about the ruffles but since they are too detailed they may be fine. We shall see.

Heidi/MMM-glad you both got the cardi. I think it will be a sellout item.

Gigi – Thank you! They are the Minnie Pant in Denim. I love the fit on these. So unlike the ones from the Fall/Winter. They never felt right. These are sooo comfy. The length is perfect too!

I was afraid there would be too many pastel color but I like the mix of pink and purples. The black skirt is the same as the frosted jacquard pencil skirt. It look really cute IRL and I sized up to an 8 on that one.

I have to say the sizing was weird. Typical J Crew vanity sizing. The white blouse I tried was a 4! All of the tees were smalls and I could have probably gone to an XS!?!? The only constant was the bottoms…all size 6 except for the black skirt. Also, the dress is a linen blend. I'm on the fence with this one, especially since I bought 3 skirts. The white "tuxedo" pencil skirt was linen but had a stripe down the backside too!

Sorry for the long comment but not sure when I'll get to post a real review on the rest.

thanks for all the extra photos!! I am very cuious about the denim Minnie – definitely want to try those on. Love the zippered cardi, but I am afraid it will look way too short on me with my height and my build – cropped usually just looks over-shrunken on me.

I grabbed this cardi the day it came out in our store…..I just love it!

I find the length of it goes perfectly with the layered tank. It hits right where the ruffles start like they were meant to be ;o)
