Shoes-day: J Crew Etta Bead-Stitch Pumps

Buying multiples can sometimes be a curse, especially when the item is $100+ (or $50+ for that matter). I hesitated for the longest time (in JC terms) on buying a pair of Etta pumps. I couldn’t trust the CWFS who said this shoe was “all-day, all-night comfortable”. Really? A magic shoe? A magic HIGH-HEELED shoe? I think not. But, I finally bit and purchased my first pair of Etta’s, the Collection Snakeskin.

Ok, so I confess…I have not worn them yet. I just haven’t had the opportunity. They are special. But I will. I really see myself this Fall in Cafe’ Capri’s or jeans with lovely blouses and beautiful heels or flats. Not shorts, tees, jersey skirts, and TB Thora’s. That’s my goal anyway, or so I tell myself. Anyway, I can’t comment on the comfort of the Etta’s yet but when I want something and it’s a great deal, well, the Shoe-Goggles come on.
When those puppies are on, apparently I can’t see color (I’m looking at you “Poppy” Janey Flats that are red on the website but really orange IRL. Really ORANGE.) and don’t fully read descriptions from the CWFS (Crafted in Italy of a woven fabric that has the look of intricate beading). The Etta Bead-Stitch Pumps DO NOT have actual beading AudreyBella!
So the “intricate beading” is actually woven fabric made to look like beading. But, it really does look like beading, from far away, which is where everyone will be when I wear these.

See…no beading…but pretty none-the-less.

Confess! How many times have you fell for the CWFS description only to be shocked/disappointed/happy that it was not what you thought?

Unfortunately, I forget to read the description and that gets me into trouble. Every time they say slim fit I should order large not medium.

Blue Booby – I try to stay away from slim-fit altogether but when it's a good-looking shirt I tend to skim the description.

I like the idea of a magic high heeled shoe…yes, please! and I must confess, I too have fallen for the well worded item descriptions. But these are nice, nonetheless…and they do "look" like little beads. :o)

Too funny! I do not go for high heels as i have yet to find one that is actually comfortable on my poor tootsies! These are nice and i hope you get to wear them a lot!

WMM – I know what you mean. I am starting to have to limit my heel height to 3 inches or less, even if there's a platform.

Well you had me fooled, I definitely thought they were beads. I can't recall specifically but I know I've been duped by the CWFS myself.

Those are some serious shoe goggles! Too funny!

xoxo – I am happy they aren't real beads as I know I'd bust a few beads.

How is the sizing on the Etta's? Are they TTS? I wear a 9 in Cece's. TIA!

    • July 27, 2013 / 12:36 am

Melissa – I wear a 7 in the Cece's and the Etta's, as well as most JC Shoes. The only exceptions so far have been the Seville Wedge Espadrilles and the Lillian's. HTH!

I'm goggling the goggles! lol I have long thought those are real beads. I guess we need microscopes when we read. They look very pretty. If you find them comfortable, I'm going to have to ask for a pic of your foot. Foot shape seems to be key when buying JC shoes.

Gigi – They are comfortable. I haven't done a full day of 8+ hours but so far so good. Foot shape, I think is normal. I'll do a pic, a-la-Gigi soon.
